Antenna Feed switches: 12V & Diseqc

Antenna Feed switches: 12V & Diseqc
Hi Folks

Experience & comments on the following two subjects would be appreciated:

Question 1)
My Global "CSO12" 12V controlled antenna feed switch has failed (it allows the 12V o/p on my Echostar to switch the feeds from the fixed and steerable dishes to the single LNB input on that receiver) and I need to replace it by another 12V switch (NOT a diseqc switch in this case):
Any recommendations for a replacement:
a) same again (but I now find this one has a nominal 4db attentuation - which seems high)?
b) the Hama 44143 that I can find on the CPC site - but for which I can find no technical details?
c) Another supplier's switch (none found so far! )

Question 2)
One of the inputs to the above switch is a Global "4X1" 4-way diseqc switch fed from four LNB's on the fixed dish (which is why the switch above CANNOT be diseqc!). But again this has a 4dB attentuation spec on it.

Any suggestions for a 4-way diseqc switch with a lower attenuation?
(I have only found some Orbitel units advertised so far but no tech specs)

Thx in advance for any help.

A company in Europe - Johansson, make a set of DiSEqC switches

If you were not worried earleir by the through loss of the Global, why now ?
Does Global still make this switch ?
I may still have a bin of old switches in the garage, would a second hand replacement get you out of trouble ?

Thanks for the comments - I will take a look at Johansson.

Why worried now and not before?
Because one the LNB's on the fixed dish is aimed at Sirius and the signals on S3 are only just holding up without the Diseqc (but with the 12V switch in)
(& because I did'nt realise how lossey the Global items are - probably not helped)
-> Makes sense to reduce the losses as much as possible - and these switches are probably the areas where I can do it .

Thanks for the offer of the S/h switches but no sweat at the moment - I will get this fixed within a few days.

A 4dB loss in the cable is not going to make one iota of difference to the reception. The gain of the LNB is there to overcome all but the most problematic cable issues

What does not help are nodal problems caused by introducing junctions into the system, F plug joiners at each end of the switch, the air spacing on the PCB, and even the contacts within the relay, can cause notches at particular frequencies which could be at an important frequency.
