1W - can you confirm

Hi

I'm going to have a go at installing my dish tomorrow as it look like the weather may be decent.

I have read all the very helpful tutorials on this site but I just need one thing confirming.

If I am setting the dish to 1W does this mean that the receiver & motor hould be set to 1W?

Thanks

My System: Manhattan Starlight 5900+PVR-80GB,Topfield TF5000CI,Skystar2,110cm dish, Invacom 0,3dB, Moteck SG2100A,range: 75East-61West,AMD Sempron 2600+, Windows XP Pro.

First, adjust the motor elevation to the right angle.
Use the USALS(Diseqc 1.3) menu to turn the motor towards 1W (Intelsat 10-02), then turn the complete combination (motor and dish) around the pole until you get signal. If you do this around 12.00 point exactly towards the sun. Maybe you have to adjust the declination angle (the angle that the dish makes with the motor).Check the channels that you have the right sat. Then tight the motornuts and you're ready.

My System: Technomate TMS-1500 CI+ "patched" receiver, 90cm p/f 36v motorised dish, Inverto C120 0.3db LNB, Moteck V-Box 2, Packard Bell 6052 XP Home computer, Toshiba A60 laptop, and lots of Russian Vodka !

Make sure you use a strong transponder like BBC World, 1 West, FTA, 11325 H 24500, to line up on.

My System: Smart lnb, 1m Gibby dish, Stab motor, TM5200D receiver, 57east to 61west. DTT from Sudbury. Virgin Media broadband.

It depends where you are in the UK as th wether or not you use 1west as your due south satellite. If you are far enough west it is better to use the bird sat 5west for setting up.
BTW this time of year the sun is overhead at 1pm BST if you are near the zero meridian, not 12noon as mentioned by a previous poster.

Thanks all. 1W is closes to due south for me as I am in Birmingham. I have got next sat/sun free so will attempt installation.
