Will this dish work?

Hi, I have been told in the past that to get 26e the minimum is a 1m. Today I noticed the 85cm Fracarro penta claims to be better than a 1 meter conventional dish. Is this true or not. If it is it should work right?

Thanks for reading

My System: technomate 1500 strong 4375 pace digi box triax 1.1, triax 88cm

modman,

im not sure about the fracarro, but i use an 88cm triax from hartlepool in the northeast for 26e badr. For the mbc i get an average of 55% to 62% and one tv somewhere around 60% to 64%. I reckon down your area you should get it ok, try and get the one tv first 12130 v 27500 I have a pole in the back garden and to get the signal i use a tv next to the dish to get the signal up, even on the ground mbc is awkward to get but from where you are based you will possibly get the signal a little bit better even if you are up a height

One more thing are the 85 cm transparent dishes good enough to get the mbc's. The problem I have is its going in the garden and must look ok to other people in my house (not too big). As above the Triax 88cm gets them so will 3cm be a significant loss?

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

I guess that if they compare the Fracarro to the standard garbage which are often served up as 1m dishes, it probably is good, but I seriously doubt that it would outperform a quality 1m.

There has been a thread about these dishes earlier on this forum and their secret is that they can make larger dish look smaller by cutting the four corners.

The dish have it's major gain in the centre of the dish and it fades the further you go to the edges, by making the dish bigger and and therefore getting a larger area in the center and by cutting four corners of the edges the dish look smaller but performs like a larger dish.
