signal in bad weather

hi guys,

I am using a 85cm transparent dish with 0.2db lnb and diseqc motor.

I am also in the north east of england where there has been thick grey cloud cover now for 4 days and persistant rain.

At this moment I am struggling to pick up digialb 16e at all. and nova package on 13 east is a bit crap too.

anyone else in the north of england experiencing such bad reception?

You shouldnt be having any problems with 13E - The sats are almost as powerful as 28E now the old birds have been pensioned off.

My System: Dreambox 7020, CM 1.2 with invacom quad c120 & channelmaster feedhorn.

85 cm should be okay for digitalb as a Triax 78 pulls it in over here. Check alignment and chop trees if required!

@ 10am...getting a bit brighter, still cloudy and damp.

1west reappearing and nova trying to lock.

As i said in first post...At the bottom of the garden there are 3 high thick trees....so I definatly think the weather and the trees arnt helping.

The trees are not on my property so I cant cut them down or anything.

Winter will be better

Sounds like you need to raise the dish a tad. A couple of feet might do the trick.

vast improvement of the weather and vast improvment of the signals....no problems now.

@ analogue ..yes i think the trees are causing me trouble. I wil keep testing each day on signal levels and quality levels...ive only had the system up 1 week on the monday when i set up it was clear skys and sun then rest of week bad weather.

my dish is only 9 ft from the ground, this, bad weather, and those damm council trees mean its all combining to hamper signals.

thanks anyway guys

If the signal is coming through the trees then you will get massive signal absorption every time it rains and water is sitting on the leaves.

You need to resite your dish

yeah somebody i talk to who lives in a town near me they cannot have a satellite dish because of tall trees infront of the house, the only thing to do is either go infront of them or above them and if not satellite is a no goer, i think you must have a simular setup to me but ive had all sorts of trouble receiving any sats further east than 28.8, not sure if you had the same
