My System: dREAMBOX 600 PVR RUNNING GEMINI

Deos anyone know why it takes so long for a channel to show. If I switch to a Cinema channel for example, I can wait for around 3-5minutes before the channel comes up. Is the system searching for keys or something, if so why does it take so long? Is there some way of reducing the time?
Otherwise, I have to wait 5 minutes to see if I can view each channel, before seeing what is on. It only does this with some channels though

My System: Dreambox 500S & 7020s. Technomate 9100 & 1500. Force frontier fixed, Raven 90 fixed, Triax 90 motorised dish. Diablo & dragon cams.

It shouldn't take this long to clear, from downloading the keys, if you are talking about prem*ier then it's probally auto-updating - if you are using CCcam2.0.5 or mgcamd 1.27.

BTW hacksat key updater is upto version 7b now.

Regards,
Ollie

Have you tried restarting your emu after updating keys?

hi i use mcamd 1.27 with gemini 4.2. hack sat works fine on prem can be hit and miss on multivision. i put it down to occasional glitches with hack sat and just accept thats how it is. ps u might be better off starting a new thread on card sharing or searching for previous posts.

I think its due to the dish I've got being too small to get a good reception on some channels. Multivision channels are apparently broadcast from a satellite which is further away, and therefore the signal is lower. So i've just bought me a 1m sat dish with multilnb holder and diseqc switch, hope to get it for the weekend.

Thx for suggestions

Err nope, TPS / MV broadcasts off the high power Hotbird cluster at 13E and those satellites are an easy catch here in south Scotland with an 80 cm dish. In fact they are an exceptionally easy catch on a zone 1 sky dish! (43cm)

As Analoguesat replied, MV channels are part of TPS on Hot Bird 13E, but they seem to be weaker than the other channels.
They tend to pixel and disappear entirely in the evenings, even with a 1.6m dish in the Middle East and this can be seen from the MV FTA promo channel.

Good morning guys from greece !!!
I have installed the latest version of hacksat(v.8)
but as a friend mentioned, the update in some channels (f.e polsat)is not immediate and i have to wait enough time so as the receiver can descramble the channels. With older versions of hacksat i didnt have this problem .
I think this is due to the fact that i use an older version of gemini (3.2) but i am not sure .
Regards

Good morning to you also morten,

Which CAM are you using?
Also, what is the memory status on your box?
It is always a good idea to upgrade to the latest Gemini image (now 4.2).
but first try to install latest CCcam 2.0.5 (06/02/08) from the Blue Button > addons > Gemini Server >
If you already have done this, then try the upgrade.

I mean the latest from the CAMs list when you connect to the Gemini Server.
It shows in the description (in German) the date before you select to download and install.
But never mind. You seem to have the latest.

to update keys manualy, it also gives me the satisfaction that I done
it not my db.

Is there any way of allowing hacksat or atan updater to automatically update all keys, for all supported cams when you switch on the decoder? I would like it to start up then the key updater window to appear and it to say keys updated, before trying the channel on a soft switch on

You can create a cron job. Search should find a big post on it from last year (tps/ aes). You may be able to use it for your updater.
