Watching VLC stream on PC with Vista?

Hi,

I am thinking about getting a new PC and it will most likely come with Vista.

I watch a lot of tv streaming to the PC. I do this succesfully with Win XP. As anyone done this succsesfully with Vista 64/32bit?

Also I make the odd recording on the dreambox ftp the ts file onto the PC and it plays fine on vlc. I tried this on a friends laptop with vista and it didnt play properly. I could hear the sound but no picture was visible.

Is Vista blocking the viewing of the ts file?

Try to play the *.ts files with Nero Showtime (Nero DVD and media files Player). It works great with XP Pro. Sorry I can't answer about Vista, but it is possible that VLC is not supporting Vista well.
(If you or your friend don't have Nero, there is a 15 days evaluation).

I am using VLC media player 0.8.6c to watch streams from my Dreambox over a WLAN and it seems to work just fine with Windows Vista 32 bit. When Vista first came out, VLC had a few problems but these seem to have been cured. I haven't tried recording with VLC though.

I have vista 32 and 64 both working fine with vlc.

yep me too. All aspects of VLC working great in Vista. I've just moved to a MAC and its working great on OSX too...
