My System: DM500s, 80cm Dish, 6degree MonoBlock 13e/19.2e. Nabilo v0.8 |
Hi All As above i'm afraid. I have had delivery today of my 80cm Dish, mounting stuff, 6 degree monoblock and my DM500-s. Now i can't put the dish up until the weekend (darkness and work) and i did order it last week so i'd have 4 days over easter to play play with it. So all the tut's say to tune in the satellites then flash box, could i not flash it now and set up my network etc, then hook it up to the dish at the weekend? Also should i just power it on and look at the default image before i flash? (Case its DOA) i'm guessing after flashing i'll get asked the setup questions again? apologies, i know these are bone questions but i'm dying to get stuck in ![]() And i've read your great site until my eye's are sore, just need to get playin' Cheers Wedgy

Blog Entries: 3 My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum. | I see no reason why you shouldn't flash it, perhaps start off with a stable image like Gemini.

My System: DM500s, 80cm Dish, 6degree MonoBlock 13e/19.2e. Nabilo v0.8 | Thanks Rolfw, All flashed Gemini 4.3.1 Shame i can't get the dish up now ![]() As its obviously a clone i just wanted to make sure she was ok.... The master plan is an 8000 hd model (Def original) and motorised set up. But i'll have all summer to play with this before parting with that sort of cash. So i'm going to learn all about satellite's and linux this summer ![]() You've probably just answered the 1st of many questions by myself.. Thanks again Wedgy

Blog Entries: 1 My System: DM7020S ~ DM500s ~ sg2100 ~ Gemini ![]() If he were not a wizard, from head down to the root, you would have got to worry-your DB only boots | You don't need any knowledge of Linux to use a Dreambox. It doesn't hurt but it isn't really necessary for the average user.
