DM800 MgCamd v1.30 & NewCS v1.60 - S*y card keeps deactivating

Hi,

I have my UK S*y subscription card in a DM800. I am running MgCamd v1.30 & NewCS v1.60.

Every couple of months all the channels with NDS encryption deactivate. If I put the card back in my SKY HD box then it will over the course of some hours reactivate the FTV channels such as Channel 4 HD and Channel 5, Fiver, and Five US.

The Sky channels I subscribe to do not reactivate and I have to call Sky to reactivate them. This is less than ideal for me.

I previously used a DM7020-s for several years running NewCamd v6.## and I never had this problem. It is only since I "upgraded" to the DM800 and started using NewCS and MGcamd. AFAIK I cannot run NewCAMd on the Dm800 as it is an enigma2 dreambox.

Does anyone else have this problem with NewCS and MGcamd? If not which CAM are you using to clear S*y channels with on Enigma 2 Dreamboxes?

Is there anything I can do to stop this happening short of ditching the DM and using the Sky HD box? Which I really don't want to have to do......

Thanks,

Stvy

Have you tried CCcam?

My System: DM7020-s

Hi,

Ok so CCcam has better developed keep alive support.

But why do I need the Smargo smartreader+. I already have card slot on the DM800. What advantages does the Smargo smartreader+ bring to the table.

Thanks,

Stvy

Can you use your DM7020-s with the Sky card in and share it over your LAN to the DM800. Effectively using this box as a card reader/card updater.

Yes I could..... Not sure what is available on the DM7020 in terms of card servers and cam's. Reason being is that when I only had the DM7020 I did not have another receiver to share the card with.

Could you recommend me the best card server and cam for a S*y card in a DM7020.. Also recommend me the best image for this?

Thanks,

Stvy

Same again - CCcam.

I'm sure there's a big thread in the 800 section about sky cards...

Sky UK card not working in DM800 Card Reader

You can't use an NDS card in a DM800 with CCcam. thats why you need the smargo.
You can ofcourse use CCcam with an NDS card in a 7020 if you have one. Then just share it as mentioned.
