How do you supply a password in cccam?

I have a French Viacess BIS card which works fine with cccam on my DM7000 except for the adult channels. To access XXL and Dorcel I need to supply a 4 digit code. How do I configure cccam to supply the code?

Are you absolutely sure that these channels have a PIN number set by the provider?
In this case ask the provider or the shop that sold you the card.
Is it possible that the receiver has a Parents code set on these channels?
In this case delete the channels and rescan.
Try putting the card in another receiver or if you have a Viaccess CAM, use that instead of CCcam and see what happens.
If nothing helps, try the usual PINs like
1234
0000
It is only 9999 numbers so it shouldn't take you very long.

Yes there is a PIN - 8080. I don't have another receiver to use or a Viacess CAM. The card works perfectly on BIS on both 13E and 5W. I am using PLI Jade with CCCam 2.10 with NewCS. The BIS website says that these channels are double encrypted (presumably to avoid child access). What I don't know is how to supply the pin to decode the stream. Is it in CCCam or in NewCS?

There should be a CCcam Configuration file. Download from the Blue Button > Grmini Server.
Have you tried putting this PIN number in the channel itself under parental lock options? See if this helps.

My System: Dream7020 and AZ Elite

Do You have to manually enter the pin code every time ??

If so it could be a problem for the ccc to support this. Perhaps You need a small script that will insert the pin when You go to those channels ?

If it is not, as suggested by HB12DISH, a setup in the decoder ?

Thanks for the replies. I have edited the cccam.cfg file manually (I don't have a Gemini image installed) as with PLi images there appears to be no other way of setting it.
I will have to wait until later tonight to try it as these channels are only available after 22:30 (French time).

If you have a friend who has a receiver with Viaccess CAM, you can set the PIN to 0000, as the other guy from Thailand did.
Aparently after that he didn't have to mess with the config file.

Unfortunately this did not work but I may be that I need to add additional settings or I have misunderstood the syntax.

In the 'Other config settings' section there is a section to set card pin.
I added the line
PIN: /dev/sci0 8080
as I have been told the pin is 8080

What I am not sure of is what this line does.

Does it supply the pin to the card equivalent to entering the code manually or does it change the code on the card?

In other words if I change the line to
PIN: /dev/sci0 0000
will it change the default setting to 0000?

there is warning in the file
* please be very careful with this option as you could lock your card*

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks

Buy a Red Viaccess CAM, they are dead cheap nowadays, insert it in the CI slot instead of taking a chance with this card, which is not cheap.

Do hardware CAMs perform OK in a Dreambox? I am sure that I remember reading sometime ago that they were dodgy that the smart slots with software EMUs are better

No problem with my 7000S and a Red Viaccess CAM.
You just need to select Common Interface instead of CCcam.

What interface do you have to the CAM? How would you change a PIN for example?

There is a menu with parental control option (or something like that).
Never had this problem myself.

I bought a Viaccess 3 MPEG4 Original CI Module (CAM) which is supposed to work with every version of Viaccess cards (Versions 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 2.6 and 3) but it didn't work with my BIS card (it is supposed to). When I inserted this into the box I found a Red Viaccess CI Module in the slot (which I thought I had misplaced). I was using the smart slots. I also tried the BIS card in the Red module (chip connections upwards) and that didn't work either. I used the blue button - hardware settings - Common Interface. It sees the module but when I try selecting it to open it the box the software tells me to wait but nothing happens until I press Esc to quit. It will not respond to Init.

It looks like either I have a hardware fault or CI module slot has been disabled. Any thoughts?

Can you open any of the channels with the Red CAM or the new one?
Do you have another ordinary receiver with CI slot that you can try?
Try deleting all the Bis channels and then do a rescan of their TPs.
I am begining to suspect your image, as I have always used Gemini and never had any problems with the official smartcards.
Suggest to flash with the latest Gemini 4.5.0 and see what happens.

I tried a Gemini Image - it was 4.2.0, which I had previously installed, and it gave exactly the same results. I must have a hardware problem on my DM 7000.

Unless I can find someone locally with a box with a Viaccess CI module I'm stuck.
In the UK most people with satellite TV have Sky boxes

Why do you suspect the hardware?
Do you have another official card that you can try or even a Gold Card so that you can test the CAM/CAMs?
Try flashing with the latest Gemini 4.5.0
(take out the PCMCIA CAM during the flash process)
It could also be a problem with the Bis card itself.
You can request to test the card on one of the members or mods systems.
Which town or city is the nearest to you?
Not sure if they would want to give it back though.

I tried Gemini 4.5.0 but still no success.

As another test I tried to open the CI module with the CI module removed and the behaviour was identical which confirms my suspicion that this is a hardware problem and the DM7000 is not communicating with CI module.

I hope to buy a DM8000 in the Spring (if they are on sale then) and hopefully with 3 CI slots one of them will work! The Viaccess 3 MPEG4 Original CI Module which also supports HD allows me the possibility of an HD subscription although I am sure the smart slots will be easier.

I tried setting the parental locks on these channels with the same PIN code without success.

Thanks for your suggestions but I am going to admit defeat and abandon this for now.
