My System: Dreambox 600PVR i7 920, Vista64, 12Gb RAM, 2Gb Video, SSD Drives | Hi everyone. I'll get straight to the point. I have a Dreambox 600 PVR. I have latest Gemini with Hacksat and Satin Key Updater. They both work and if I ftp into the box I can see that the keylist etc. has todays date. I have latese mgcam, cccam, evocam, cam3d and scam. Very few chanels decode for me and it always seems to be the same ones with the odd exception. For example the Sex View set of chanels decoded once for one night after an update. Also once one of the encryption icons I,V,CO,CW etc turned green. Why? If I view the contents of the keylist file it lists the chanels that should decrypt but they mostly dont. My dish points at 13 and 19. What cam referes to what file for its keys. I'm begining to think that this box is only good for watch FTA on 28. I've also used the Antr@g key bundle and ftp'ed across with the same results. If the bundle is downloaded using Hacksat or Satin shouldn't the chmod properties all be set correctly? Any help appreciated

The encryption icon turns green to show you which encryption has been "opened" to watch the channel. There's a lot less open these days and it's not unusual for keys to only work for a few hours. Lots of keys/ channels in the keylists are old and refer to channels that have long been secure. Have you looked at 1W (do you have a motorised dish)?

My System: Dreambox 600PVR i7 920, Vista64, 12Gb RAM, 2Gb Video, SSD Drives | Thanks for the quick reply. I know that 28 is locked down. My dish is fixed at the moment. I am able to watch some chanels with encryption, but the encryption icons always stay yellow, only once has it ever turned green. Are the auto key updaters of any real use? Why are they updated so often if most of the keys are still old ones. My plan was to look at 13, 16 and 19, but is there any real reason to bother trying 16? Why do you suggest 1W? Thanks again, I'm a bit new to all this, but I did read the idiots guide.

While there are so few channels that can be unencrypted you either need to treat it as hobby or buy a subscription card. There are far less open channels than a year ago- things may change but don't hold your breath. The Idiot's Guide is there to help forum members setup their Dreamboxes not tell them which channels are open (plus that type of information changes often). If a channel doesn't clear after using a key updater then it is very probably secure either because the keys aren't known or they use a secure encryption method e.g. NDS. I'd also suggest not using Satan as it has a nasty habit of knackering your image. FTP or Hacksat are safer.

My System: . | Hi 'monkey, What you have found is indeed the way things are at the mo. However, I find the Demonisat updater is often the quickest (sometimes the only) updater to come up with the short term channel openings that are the norm of late. See my post in another thread: Hacksat vs Satan Best wishes, John.

My System: Lidl ali sat box with a basic dish. Frontier dish with multiple lnbs. Not setup yet DM7020s waiting for it to arrive | Me too, trying it now.. It's a great hobby, and anything you manage is a bonus. It did seem like a free for all about a year ago, I was only sorry I didn't start sooner lol
