I have put this thread under the Dreambox General section, but it should be the same for other receivers which have teletext support. There are many FTA channels on Hot Bird 13E which send subtitles for selected programmes, either from an option box or using special teletext pages. The main reason for sending the subtitles is to help viewers who are HOH (Hard Of Hearing) to enjoy the programmes. This thread should help those who have some knowledge of foreign languages to enhance the enjoyment of the viewing and also help them with the study of foreign languages. There is also the possibility to record the programmes using the internal HDD (for models like 7000S 0r 600pvr or 7020S) and then manipulate the *.ts file so as to extract the subtitle file in the original language and replace it with a simple translated English file (using Google). Please see this thread: http://www.satellites.co.uk/satellit...-burn-dvd.html The following list details the channel name and the teletext page number used in order to send the subtitles. Most commonly used pages are 777, 888 and 150. I will also attach in seperate posts for each channel or provider, snap shots of a frame with a subtitle line. 1 - ARD Das Erste Teletext page 150, in German 2 - ZDF Teletext page 777, in German 3 - ARTE Teletext page 888 in French and sometimes page 889 for German 4 - TVE Teletext page 888, in Spanish 5 - RAI There are three channels, RAI UNO, RAI DUE, RAI TRE. Teletext page 777, in Italian 6 - Mediaset There are three channels, Canale 5, Italia 1, Rete 4. Teletext language is Italian using page 775 for Rete 4, page 776 for Italia 1 and page 777 for Canale 5 7 - SRG (Switzerland) Teletext page 777 for all seven channels. SF Info (FTA) in German SF1 in German SF2 in German TSI1 in Italian TSI2 in Italian SFR1 in French SFR2 in French 8 - TV5 MONDE Europe This channel is a special case, as they have both subtitles languages options box from one of the menus (audio button) and also using teletext pages. The menu options box have the following languages options No subtitles German Netherland Russian Romanian and in general the subtitles lines are smaller and nicer than using the teletext pages. The teletext pages are: Page 891 French Page 892 German Page 892 Netherland 9 - TVP Poland There is no teletext pages for this channel, but I noticed that sometimes they have hard coded subtitles in English. 10 - Cyfra + Channels There are six channels in Cyfra + that transmit Polish subtitles using teletext page 777

There are six channels in Cyfra + that transmit Polish subtitles. They all use teletext page 777 1 - Canal Plus + 2 - Canal Plus + Films 3 - Ale Kino 4 - HBO 5 - HBO 2 6 - HBO Comedy Usually there is no subtitle transmission if the program has Polish dubbing on the Original audio channel (just to clarify: there are two audio channels, Polish and ORY) I was able to extract the Polish subtitle from non English speaking excellent films (French, Italian, Czech, Afghan, etc.) and translate it to English so that I can understand the films better.
