IMPORTANT for dm7000 and dm7020 : Please use the attached
YoutubeplayerE1_70x0. This version only works with vlc 0.8.6.

Works with both vlc 8.6 and vlc 9.8.

Possible to select video from different Regions - GB, DE, IT, RU (Russia), PL and others.

Possible to select Time-span for videos - from today, this_week, this_month and all_time.

Possible to edit the vlc server-ip (with remote) or select from list.

Install plugin :-

The plugin will ask for libcurl.so.3 with some images and libcurl.so.2 with others. But the attached libcurl.so.2 will be ok - change the name to libcurl.so.3 (when asked for) and ftp to /usr/lib (for openembedded images) or /var/lib (for others) and chmod 755.

The plugin .so and .cfg to /usr/lib/tuxbox/plugins (for openembedded) or /var/tuxbox/plugins (for others) and chmod 755 for the .so.

The .xml file to /etc/tuxbox/config (for openembedded) or /var/tuxbox/config (for others). Edit to insert the pc-ip.

Configure vlc 8.6 :-

Settings - Preferences - Interface - Main interface - select HTTP.
Settings - Preferences - Interface - Main interface - HTTP - Advanced options - insert in Host address :8080.
Close and restart vlc.

Configure vlc 9.8 :-

Tools - Preferences - All (at the bottom) - then same steps as for vlc 8.6.
Preferences - Stream output - select (tick) all boxes except 'display while streaming'.

Open program folder VideoLAN (default install C:\Program Files\VideoLAN). In VideoLAN\VLC\http and \VideoLAN\VLC\http\old find two files .hosts. In these files find lines like :

#192.168.0.0/16

Delete # and insert the pc-ip (vlc server-ip). Important to do this in the two files.

Important when uninstalling another vlc version - also select option to delete preferences and cache.

Tested with :-

VLC media player version : 0.8.6a and 9.8.a
Windows os : XP Pro
Dreambox image : Gemini 4.60
Dreamboxes : 600pvr and 5620.
(If it works with other setups - please post).

can u help me pls i have the same problem like
only i am using vlc vlc-0.9.8a i folow tutorial and i can see the list but when i chose some i get error that he can not be connected with vlc or vlc is not started something like that i can make printscreen and upload it to see. For now i deleted all files from my dm

i try finale version and YoutubeplayerE1_70x0 but the same problem

i have dreambox 600 and nemessis 4,4 image

It should work with the 600.

Has your vlc streaming worked with other plugins?

Also try vlc 0.8.6.
