Dreambox 8000: Recording on DVDs

I've just got the Dreambox 8000, me and my mate are gonna set it up tomorrow (or should I say this afternoon now, as its like 3am, lol)
I haven't get bought an harddrive or dvd drive for it yet so for time being i'm gonna be using my standalone dvd recorder, my question is;
can I connect the box via SCART to the DVD recorder in RGB mode and have the box going to my HD TV via DVI/HDMI cable??

edit; when I get an harddrive and dvd drive for the box, when you record does it record the dolby surround sound capabilities when available on certain channels/programmes or just stereo sound like the standalone dvd recorders??

anyone tested this yet??
someone must have came across this... also I always connect SCART from the TV SCART socket (rather than the VCR SCART socket) to the DVD recorder's EXT2 SCART socket cos the TV SCART socket carries the RGB mode signal which is better quality then the signal you get through the VCR SCART socket, yes maybe I'm a little over fussy but if your setting things up, best to get the best possible quality you can get, right???

if this isn't possible, any suggestions for best possible quality both viewing and recording..
I'm hoping to watch using the DVI/HDMI cable and when i want to record, to be able to record in the RGB setting whilst still viewing from the DVI/HDMI,

Thanks,

As far as I know, the DM600 records all the audio streams. You can switch between them while playing back. I would imagine the DM8000 would do the same.

I cant comment on your other question because I don't own a DM8000.

Thanks,
As you can simultaneously watch via HDMI and use the TV Scart for connecting to other equipment, then I see no reason why you can't connect it to your DVD recorder too.
