Arrow Dreambox 8000: tuning the satellites??

i am trying to tune the satellites positions in the dreambox 8000 but there are too much menu options to see exactly wot i need to be doing, can anyone help??

thanks,

i've got SKY - Astra 2 (28.2 East) tuned in, now wanting to tune;
Astra 1 (19.2 East)
Hotbird (13.0 East)

once I've had some help with tuning them positions in, then the rest will be a piece of cake to sort out myself,

Thanks,

i'm on astra 2 (28.2 east) but dern't move from there in case i lose the position, how do i save the position its at so i can start scanning the rest in, then if i need to start again i can revert back to 28.2 east at a press of a button

There's a post in the DB800 section that might help -

setting up motorised dish positions

It'll be the same procedure for the DB8000.

Are you using USALS or not. Its by far the simplest way to do it. In the tuner config page, set it to Simple and Positioner. Then enter your lat and long. Done!

Providing of course you know you dish is aligned properly and 0 degrees on the motor is due south.

right, i've had several attempts, i dunno if its just me doing it wrong, basicly the setup i have is;

an 80cm orbital dish on a motor
LNB going to tuner A (only tuner A, nothing else is in tuner B)
and i'm wanting all the possible satellites scanned and stored

as much help in simple form will be great,
thanks

i think i've scanned the wrong channels in on the wrong satellite somehow

the dish seems to have a mind of its own, moves before i get the chance to do anything in the setup, which is totally annoying, is there anyway possible i can transfer the positions from the dreambox 500 over to the 8000??

another 50 dreamboxes will have been out by the time i've scanned in 1 satellite, lol

ok, think i've got the hang of it now, this is what i've scanned in with a bit of faffing about;
position 1. 28.2E - ASTRA 2
position 2. 13.0E - Hotbird
position 3. 19.2E - ASTRA 1

also scanned all the channels in on them 3 satellites, but when i go to a channel on a satellite it comes up 'tuner failed', so i have to keep going to positioner setup, then select the position number i want to go to for the satelite i want to be on and press the 'go to' yellow button...

what have i done wrong or missed out??

thanks
