Wink Testing New White Sly UK Card - CAID 963

K guys, lets try and get some real information about this card update.
I've just got home from the pub with the new white sly card in my wallet.
I'm gonna start some testing with CCcam and NewCS using smargo and infinity usb smart card readers. I will not be putting the card in the internal !

The card is obviously a pub sub and carries music mix and sport mix including Sultarna ! No HD I'm afraid.

I'll report my findings over the weekend.

Hi,

Can you clarify the reason you will not put the card in the internal card reader? Is it due to voltage?

Do I need to go and order a smargo smart reader? ;-)

Thanks,

Stvy

Not gone exactly to plan guys, hence no updates over the weekend. I'm having trouble with my smargo of all things. I've even wiped my DM7025 and done a fresh install of BH0.9. Anyway, gonna have an hour on it tonight after work. So far its pretty clear that CCcam will not run the card no matter what.

Most talk so far is around NewCS but from what I can see so far there's no real solution to running this card. This said, I will still report my finding to you all to read here. Bare with me guys...

Alright man,

So with the talk around NewCS, have you tried using NewCS to run this card instead of just normal CCcam? I know that it will add on an extra hop to CCcam and then share from there but i'm assuming it should work.

I'm not sure if the new CCcam 2.1.1 which came out a week or so ago was to fix it, although that has a bug in it that just decides to stop, so i wouldn't recommend trying it. Maybe the new Mbox will run this card, it is meant to be the next big hit.....so they say, not sure about it performance wise though.

Anyways, keep us posted on your findings

Wink Testing...

Ok guys, all testing is done using a smargo. The CCcam testing is done in my DM8000 using a smargo on /dev/usb/tts/0

Firstly CCcam 2.1.1

This is the entitlements from an old conax card I use for testing.

Code:
card reader /dev/usb/tts/0
handled 0(0) ecms and 0(0) emms
Conax card
Caid b00
id name date
1010 Digit ALB 01.01.08-31.01.08
                  01.12.07-31.12.07
1020 SuperSport 01.06.08-30.06.08
                  01.05.08-31.05.08
And the debug output...
Code:
root@dm7025:/usr/bin# ./CCcam_211 -d
22:49:06.417 CCcam: ======================================================================
22:49:06.424 CCcam: starting CCcam 2.1.1 compiled on May 2 2009@20:00:30
22:49:06.426 CCcam: ======================================================================
22:49:06.429 CCcam: online using nodeId xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
22:49:06.450 CCcam: dvb api3 detected
22:49:06.454 CCcam: DM7025 detected
22:49:06.456 CCcam: create 8 cam device(s)
22:49:06.833 CCcam: card detect fail
22:49:07.157 CCcam: calculated EGT: 0 us
22:49:07.168 CCcam: conax card found
22:49:07.334 CCcam: card added to broker with caid b00
This is CCcam entitlements report when I insert the new white card.

Code:
card reader /dev/usb/tts/0
handled 0(0) ecms and 0(0) emms
Nds card xxxxxxx
And again the debug output...
Code:
22:59:47.459 CCcam: /dev/usb/tts/0 configured clock frequency: 6860000 Hz
22:59:47.778 CCcam: nds card found(new type)
22:59:47.834 CCcam: nds: using boxkey xxxxxxxx
22:59:47.973 CCcam: card added to broker with caid 963
22:59:50.025 CCcam: added 7898 channel names from /var/etc/CCcam.channelinfo
22:59:50.026 CCcam: server started on port 12000
Now I should be mention at this point that this card has been in the original sly box it was meant for. There is talk that once a pairing has taken place this is the reason for the lack of entitlements update.

With this current info the card opens nothing at all !

Ok thats it for tonight guys. Way past my bed time..
NewCS testing to follow, maybe tomorrow night...
Sit tight....

Ta M8, just to let you know I put a paired and unpaired card in the smargo and both report no entitlements

card reader /dev/usb/tts/0
handled 0(0) ecms and 0(0) emms

Thanks for your tests B16MCC + Tom.

I gather you guys have been following the same thread I have on another forum. Its full of rubbish, but at least we know that so far it seems NewCS/CCcam seems to be the path of least resistance. (for now!)

Looking forward to your test results folks.

Yeah mate that thread is getting a bit out of control. Although a mod has tidied up a bit. There's far too much speculation and not enough hard fact. At the moment its not worth a toss. Anyway, hopefully get to start testing on NewCS tonight after work. (10pm) I've no box key for this card at the moment though. I'll text the pub landlord now and get him to send me the box serial number. I read that the box key doesn't make any difference, but a shot in the dark might be to try putting the box key in backwards, its an old trick from the early C*bl* days.

Wink NewCS Testing

Ok guys, here's some testing I've done with NewCS.

I struggled a little to get any response from the smargo. Its getting a little late and so against my better judgement I used the top slot of my DM8000.

My config.

Code:
<device>
            <name>Top Slot</name>
            <type>sci</type>
            <mhz>357</mhz>
            <node>/dev/sci1</node>
            <parity>ODD</parity>
            <reset>normal</reset>
            <export>yes</export>
            <enabled>yes</enabled>
            <blocksa>No</blocksa>
            <blockua>No</blockua>
            <blockga>Yes</blockga>
            <PTShandshake>no</PTShandshake>
            <crypto-special>no</crypto-special>
            <carddetect>yes</carddetect>
            <newcamd_port>13000</newcamd_port>
            <autosid>Yes</autosid>
            <priority>round</priority>
        </device>
Using this config, NewCS reported the following.

Code:
Entitlements for card 0
.--------------------------------------.
| Provider | Expiry date | Expiry time |
|----------|-------------|-------------|
| 0003 | 2009-07-06 | 00:00:00 |
| 000B | 2009-07-06 | 00:00:00 |
| 001D | 2009-07-06 | 00:00:00 |
| 30E3 | 2009-07-06 | 00:00:00 |
| 30E4 | 2009-07-06 | 00:00:00 |
| 30E5 | 2009-07-06 | 00:00:00 |
| B752 | 2009-07-06 | 00:00:00 |
| B765 | 2009-07-06 | 00:00:00 |
| B766 | 2009-07-06 | 00:00:00 |
| B772 | 2009-07-06 | 00:00:00 |
| B773 | 2009-07-06 | 00:00:00 |
| B790 | 2009-07-06 | 00:00:00 |
| B860 | 2009-07-06 | 00:00:00 |
| B8BC | 2009-07-06 | 00:00:00 |
'--------------------------------------'
So now at least there's some response from the entitlements.

So although a little progress perhaps, still nothing clears. No Sly Sports, No MTV , No Sultana ! I guess we're waiting for a softcam update !

They need to update CCcam anyways, the last version had a bug in it. I assume with this being the/one of the latest ones out, they are working on compatibility for it as a priority.

Very nice piece of testing though matey, if you don't try you'd never have known

Your right mate. With all the talk about it on several forums I new it didn't work, but I believe in sharing hard facts backed up with real information, rather than a thread full of 30 posts asking what if, and how did you do that. At the end of the day we have to wait for the real clever people to fix it.

BTW, I run CCcam 2.1.1 with no issues so far. Lets not change the subject of this thread.

bellaghy09 :- No not yet, I don't have the paired box here at home, its at the pub. It sounds like the boxkey is important at the moment, but apparently its not just a simple hex conversion.

Lets not make the usual mistake and fill this thread full of questions and speculation that's worth jack sh*t. If the boxkey is indeed the solution then its only a matter of time before the equation to create it goes public. If / When it does report it here and keep this thread as it was intended, useful facts !

Seems after 24 pages of someone has posted a "how to" and is confirmed as working by at least 4 others now.

Cant post the link, but I think we have all been looking at the same thing

1- first let see the box serial ( that u get from menu ) is 0085642512

2- we delete first 2 numbers 00 and we got 85642512

3- Use a dec to Hex converter to convert 85642512 to produce the boxkey in this case its 51ACD10
4- Boxkey/Now we have this number : 51ACD10 But BOXID format is : 00 11 22 33

Then we are missing a number, which we refill with zero "0" and we got 05 1A CD 10

THIS IS THE BOX ID

Now in newcs.xml just add line in reader configuration :

<boxkey>051ACD10</boxkey>

Too late for me to start messing about, Im grabbing a few zzzzsss now, will try it l8r

Just read it Tom, thanks for the prompt. Well this sounds like good news. I've made the appropriate changes to my Box Key Converter util which is available here.

Lets give it a try and see what we get.

My System: Dreambox 8000 HD PVR, 80cm Dish, 1.2 Compatible Motor, Quad LNB, Porty TV, Yamaha RX-V765 Amplifier, Tannoy Mercury FC Centre Speaker, 2 x Tannoy F1 Custom Speakers, 2 x Tannoy FR Custom Speakers, EPOS ELS Sub Woofer

so now that you've found this config file newcs.xml, you are confirming that the card is now clearing the channels?

p.s. don't listen to what people always say, people said the new cards were 3.3 volts 2months before they even came out.....unless somebody has inside info it's "rumors" again, like a lot of things with these cards. I agree with you, if they were 3.3v then normal boxes would need to be replaced also, unless some software update could change the voltage of the reader. I think it's because the recommended frequency for them cards is different, something like 330000 or whatever it is. So people think the voltage must be different too.

Well up to now there's been no confirmation of the card being 3.3v and I've tested it in the internal reader of the DM8000 and it doesn't get any warmer than any other card. I cannot test the boxkey myself at the moment as I do not have the box that goes with the card I have. I'll be going to the pub tomorrow to get the boxkey from the box, but the card will probably have to stay at the pub for the coming weekend.

Update:- NewCS 1.66 RC1 released.

Changelog

v.1.66 RC1
ALL cdks are new, due to server crash.. many many changes to libs etc.
Support for TNTSAT.
Experimental support for NDS 0963. NB! Remember to put the 4 byte hex boxkey in config!
Multi-realms added to chameleon.
Support for pin-code on specific channels specified by <protectedsid> in config.
Added the ability to disable/enable certain virtualcards on chameleon in config, or disable whole list.

I think this is pretty much the confirmation we wanted...

darrenob, you cannot yet use CCcam to run the new white sly card.

GMAN6, that really depends where you got your newcs.xml file from. It will need customizing to suite your needs as always. For example :-

1. What readers you want
2. Settings for those readers.
3. Web Access details.
4. Users.

You really need a good understanding of how NewCS works. That's not for this thread.
