Hi there, is there any dreambox able to play .avi (Divx, etc..) from its own HDD ? No streaming over the lan, just plain playing . Thanks for the advice. palmer | ||

My System: moteck sg2100a rotor. 1,3m dish. inverto lnb. ipbox 900hd. 1,5TB eSATA hdd. | abcom ipbox / dgstation cuberevo does it, but that's no dreambox. It's cheaper and better than dreambox | ||

My System: Dreambox 500+; Echostar 770 (Strong 6155); 90cm Triax dish; Strong DM2100 diseqc motor. | Dreambox 8000 is able to play such files directly. | ||

I had a look on internet (Continental Europe) and it looks like the abcom/cubevero are in the same price of the Dreambox 800HD PVR (not the 8000 !) that is suppose to be the HD entry level of Dreambox. Am I right ? Palmer | |||

 Merlin of the Idiot Guide | If you have a dreambox other than 800 or 8000, - the simplest way is to copy your media files (as mpeg2 .ts files) to the dreambox hdd through vlc. Then you can watch them in future without streaming. | ||
