My System: Bog Standard Sky :(
Newbie here

Hey guys, I've been stumbling upon dreamboxes on eb*y for some time now and i have never looked into them, well until now.
I was wondering what the usage of these boxes are, i'm intrigued simply because i here forums boasting that they are receiving fr33 channels by h*ck*ng into them.
But then i look at the dominant force which s*y really is, (why dont they fix this loophole, if there is one) and i wonder if there is any truth in recieving s*y channels without subscription. I hope i am not breaking any rules in posting this, i have tried to stop this thread from falling into the wrong hands on google.

Thanks for reading

Richard

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

It isnt possible to hack Sky but it is possible to share cards across the internet. This of course is illegal so you wont find any detailed discussion of how to do it on the forum.

Card sharing can be done 2 ways

1) a group of friends all buy one different card and share them out between themselves in a small group

2) buy into a commercial card server

1) is by far the safest, no one in their right mind does 2) simply as you havent the faintest idea who is behind the pay server - some of them are run by low lifes you really dont want to get involved with!

Thanks for the response, i would like to learn more, prior to potentially buying a dreambox. Also just to clarify a thing or two, i assume if two individuals were to buy seperate subscriptions and swap, do they each have to send their card to one another or is there a code that needs to be installed on the system?

Could anybody link me to some detailed information? im guessing this whole dreambox scenario requires alot of knowledge.

Thanks rick

Well

Can I recommend you go to the dreambox forum on this board and read all about card sharing, nobody wants to re-invent the wheel

Card sharing is done by the software cams on the boxes - the cards reside in their owners box at all times.

Be aware dreamboxes are complex high end enthusiasts receivers. If you havent used one before you aint going to take it out of the box and configure card sharing on it. Thats MONTHS down the learning curve.

Thanks, i'll make this website my new home for a few days and see if i survive.
Its good to hear the boxes keep their own cards too.
Is it legal to stream live sports to a friend from a dreambox over the internet?

Well

No of course not but they would have to catch you first, however you would need pretty high speed internet at both ends
