My System: Dreambox 500+; Echostar 770 (Strong 6155); 90cm Triax dish; Strong DM2100 diseqc motor.

Since you have a static ip, you don't need a dyndns account.
If you want to share your card over the internet, you need to forward 12000 tcp port.

My System: 2xDM7025(DVB-S tuner), DM600SPVR, DM800S, TM9100, Triax 90cm with MultiBracket 4 sats.

you have to be more specific as to which IP you are talking about. Is your IP static IP internal or external and do you want to be visible only on your internal LAN or externally. Do you have a router? The port can be configured in the config file of the cam. Which cam do you want to use?

Which means that you probably have a dynamic IP, via your ISP. The easiest way around this is to use a DNS host like DYNDNS. Basically this allows people to connect to you without changing settings regardless of what your external IP address is.

You can use any unused port for CCcam, though the default is 12000. You need to enable port fowarding on your router to whatever the server listen port is in the CCcam config file.

I've booted up, I've patched in, I'm online, offline, downloaded and extremely cheesed off!

No, if you have a router with the facility to enter a dynamic DNS address, do it there, my Netgear has a section for it.

i have set up an account with dydns, am I right that my servername wil be redirected to my ip address automaticly. the ip adddress is the one provided by my isp. I have set up my portforwarding to 12000 the default. do i have to do anything with my internal lan to the dreambox.
Or will they cumunicate without each other, without any changes to the dreambox.

Your lan will work as before. The DNS is just so other computers outside your lan can always communicate with you. My netgear has a section for DNS, but your PC can update it when it's on. Instead of giving your IP address on your lines you give your DNS name, so for example a c line would be c: somedns.somehost.com port user pass.

not if your router will keep the DNS up to date. Though you will only usually get a new IP address if your router reconnects. So you should be ok to let the laptop do it automatically when it reboots.

You can let the Dreambox handle the dynamic DNS updating.

The Nabilosat + Gemini images (probably the others too) have a pre-installed script for updating with Inadyn.

In gemini, you set it up under Blue Panel -> Services / Daemons -> Inadyn.

I cant remember where its set up on the Nabilosat images.

Only if you've either set the router, pc or the dreambox to check your IP address and when necessary, update the address with your dynamic DNS provider.
