So the new Sly card def. needs an omnikey reader??

I have read all threads concerning the new card and am still a little confused.

The new white sly card does nut run in a smargo?
I will need to buy an omnikey reader? Witch one do i buy or is any of them good? I would like to buy the 3021 as it is the cheapest.

The internal slot of the dm800 will fry the new sly card?

People report different results when running in the internal. It will work but I don't recommend it.
Also I am hearing reports the people have got the smargo to read the card. I have seen a sample of newcs.xml code but still not seen any settings for the actual smargo.
The best omnikey to get is the 3121 .

I could not get the smargo to read the 0963 card but had no problems with the 0961. The omnikey reader is better quality and costs 1/10th of the price and most of all, worked on the first try unlike the smargo which took a lot of tweaking just to have the card read. My conclusion: I could have saved myself €40 ( and many hours) since I'll will never use it for this task, maybe in future... On another note, the internal reader did work for me (with newcs) but the card does get HOT; beware!

My System: Dreambox 7020 with 120 gig hard-drive disk - running a motorised dish DM800 +DM600 +DM500 although only usually the 7020 and 800 are both on.

I've been running mine in my 7020 now for a few months and its just as cool as when kept in the sky HD box. (no problems for me).

It all depends on the box you have.
I also have a DM600 and DM800 and I wouldn't keep the card in either of them as it gets too hot.

I also have a 500 as well which is just as cool as the 7020 although I've never put any cards in it.

I agree 100%. In my original HD Slybox (amstrad) the card gets hotter than in my dm800. I had it running in the 800 for a while but nothing beats the external reader. In my 7020 the old blue card worked like a charm and very cool but obviuosly I cannot test the white card in it without burning it out.
