Question Motor drives to limits without stoppping at satellite

Got a DM800 this week and have been setting it up to replace my old and trusty DM500.

Put the latest Nabilosat 0.12 image on it, but have had servere problems setting up the motor. Have spent several nights on it with little joy - can only pick up the one odd bird, and then loose it completly when I sat hop.

The problem is now the same when using the DM500 so therefore I think it may be the motor.

The motor is just a normal stab motor with an 80cm dish.

If I use the motor control button on the motor itself (or control the dish using a sat meter) and send the dish to 28.2E, fine I get a nice picture on the box, if I then select a channel on 13E, the dish turns to the west but keeps going until it reaches the west limit.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Vince

Did it work OK with the previous image?

Are you using USALS or Diseqc1.2 ?

Hi

Is your DM box set up to use Usals or Disqc ?
If Diseqc ...you have to manually store allyour satellite positions ..
If using Usals ...only your Longtitude and Latitude need be entered ...and the DM will calculate the sat position ..

Hiya,

Should have mentioned that, I have tryed both Disec and Usals (trying Usals at the mo).

Never tryed it with the original image, used to Nabilosat, so that was the first thing I updated.

One thing I will try tomorrow is too see if there is a hard reset button on the motor - that may be the answer as mechanically and power wise all is fine?!?!

Check that the motor moves left and right using the controls in the Motor Config menu. USALS should work too, but noticed that it sometimes doesn't on Linux machines.
