Thanks Haggard, it has been a combined effort and considering it was written by idiots is not bad at all
When I started to put some of the posts together I always had the theory that in the long run it would save us quite a lot of time answering the same stuff again and again...
If only a fraction of those 10 000 managed to watch TV without having to ask beginners questions it is great!
On the other hand I think about 2000 views are made by me reading my own stuff to make sure I know what to write when answering questions. Yep...

20% isnt bad, quite often I have to read somethings five times over and still cant remember what was in the text

I received a 7000s from Furburger over at Digitech last week. I hope to have some time over Christmas to clear a small bit of room, power her up, and start losing more hair

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness"

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

Save yourself some time CH and put the 1.08 Zeus image on, add a USB stick to elarge your flash memory and you can download everything at the click of a button, didn't realise it could be as easy, the Black Tiger was not as straightforward and din't have RGB either.

PS. T_G 1000 of those views were mine as well.

Yes, of course, you started the thread T_G but then others added i.e. Stick, Rolf and Gameboy.

To enable me to do what rolfw suggests above, can you name the ideal application to flash to usb stick please. Its about time I used this 1GB thing Ive had for a month. I had it stuck in ready to use, but with Zeus flashed, my DB wouldnt boot at all with the stick in, I had to pull it.

Hi Haggard
Just put it back in after you boot up and format it with the Hydra control panel. Green button, Set up add ons, Set up add ons-USB and follow the instructions. Does not take too long. You will see your Var folder drop low to add loads of images. Use flash wizzard to load images in multiboot.

jeez, someone has actually counted my 935 reads.
I need to register a 2nd ID and then I can post things like
"My dreambox just arrived but I don't know how to open the box. Heelp."
to hide my true ID.

If you can workout how to get a tax rebate the Dreambox should be easy!

Thnx John
Yes, the /var directory dropped from 89% to 2%.
Booted OK and I was enjoying weather forecasts for Adelaide etc and then needlessly d/loaded the new RuHydra skin. This crashed the DB. It then wouldnt boot from usb although the /var was back up to 89% and things looked OK. But even reformatting the usb and re-loading all add-ons etc wouldnt get to usb reboot again so it looks like corruption and a clean install again and then go slowly. . . .

wait, wait... before the 12-20 became 0 (and at that point one question should arise about the scope of writing the Guide...), please let me assert THAT I'M A REAL NEWBYE (look at the number of my posts...), I READ THE GUIDE, AND I FOUND IT SO USEFUL! (e.g., now I'm able to turn off and on my DB - and even to change channels with the remote!).
So I'm grateful to you guys, I'm only sorry if you've done all that work just for me!
....Ehm, and now please let me know if I've won some prize for my special role in this arena.....

You can add me as an idiot to your list too. I have a mate who has a dreambox and I have been reading your guide LOADS to try and sort it out. Also been reading it for information for myself so I know what to do when I get one (one day)

Never had a chance to say cheers for putting in the work and being so helpful to everyone. Cheers!
