Dreambox Common Interface not working

I am having trouble getting by 7025 Common Interface working.

I have a ViaAccess CAM with an official TPS subscription, but the card does not seem to work (have tested on another receiver using same CAM and all okay).

On the Blue Panel I have selected Common Interface, then "Restart CAM". But the decryption does not start. I have also been to the Main Menu\Setup\Common Interface\ and can see the Viacces Cam, chosen Init, Restart, but nothing happens.

Am I doing something wrong, or missing something?

Gemini 7025 latest version.

Why dont you put the card into the dreambox card slot and use newcamd to read the card.

I've been to Bllue Panel, Addons, Download, but cannot find NewCamD. I've tried all the other software CAMs but no success. Should newcamd be listed there? If not, where can I find? (Sorry, noob questions, but at my wits end now )

If he were not a wizard, from head down to the root, you would have got to worry-your DB only boots

Common Interface will decrypt nothing.

blue button > addons > download and install > cam > newcamd v6.10b - Complete

repeat for cam-config

As you have a 7025 repeat for evocamd and MGcamd. Get latest keys. Learn to use auto-cam setup for the relevant channels.

Enjoy

newcamd definitely not listed. I can see the following:

DcCamd
Evocamd v2.11
Evocamd v2.1
MGcamd v1.0
NewCS 1.16
Scam-e2 23.03.06

I have a valid Smartcard which I know works (tested in another receiver).

I've tested the card in the internal card reader with each of the soft cams (above). Still nothing. Where can I find newcamd? Is this cam the answer.

You can get it from IHAD > database (see Idiot's Guide).

Download the tar.gz file and FTP it into var/tmp and then do a manual install.

Thanks for your help but this is not working. I have downloaded the file, FTPd it, and conducted a manual install, restarted, but newcamd is not listed. Is newcamd not for the 7020 only (I have the 7025)?

Why does this not work? I have a ViaAccess CAM, valid card, etc, but even that does not work. I must be really thick if I can't get a valid card to decrypt.

There is a 7025 section but I don't see newcamd on the list. Can't help you further- you could ask in the 7025 section. I would have thought a 7020 version of newcamd would work.

What image have you got installed & Version ??. You can use your cam in the slot but it will have to be initalized. You do this the same way as other receivers. Free to air channel/ switch off receiver/ put cam into slot/switch receiver back on/select cam from ci panel. You can go into the menu of it in the main menu and reset it/ init it. Put your card in once you can see the name of the cam in the menu. Have a go at that, but it should work with camd3 as too. Make sure your running the cam as well.
See Part 3 of my Dreambox manual.

Unfortunately this is still not working.

Using Gemini 1.50.
Completely fresh install.
Go to FTA channel.
Switch off.
Insert CAM.
Switch on.
Go to Menu\Setup\Common Interface, can see CAM listed
Insert card, reset. Can see card details.
Go to Blue menu, seleect Common Interface
Press Green button to retart CAM.
Nothing happens.
Try installing other Softcams, etc. all to no avail.

Immediately afterwards I try the CAM and CARD in a different receiver (Manhattan ST550), and works first time.

What am I doing wrong.
