Question Basic explanation needed..

Thanks for having a look and trying to help

I have got a DM500s and managed to flash with Gemini, no problem. Bought my Linksys WRT54GC router and that is when i got stuck.
I have absolutely no idea how to get my router/laptop to "see" the DM500.
I plugged in a Protek 9600IP to check that the internet is going to the box and it is. Setting up routers is obviously not my thing, 'cause i can't make head nor tail of how or where or what for that matter, to put in my router configeration page.
Please help it is driving me mad

Thanks guys, hoppo1

Which Gemini version does the box have?
Gemini 4.1 is problematic but if you have it and the box is working well then it would be interesting to know.
Recommended image is Gemini 4.0
There are many threads on how to configure the router. Do a search in the forum and you shall find.

Well

There is plenty of detailed information available on how to do this but this is a self help forum it is up to you to search for the answer. Try doing a search for linksys or router

Tried searches for 2 days. Searching for something else to do with the DM via google & bingo got it talking to each other.
Now have CCcam2.04? not sure now, downloaded, but do i have to unzip/install. Will search again.
What do i need to do to cardshare?
hoppo1

ps. Gemini 4.1. What is better with the 4.0, more stable?

You can wait for the CCcam install after you have the router working from the Addons submenu. The install will take you a second.

Sorry, thought CS was allowed on here.

Found this from Analoguesat,

"There is a way around this and this is using the previously mentioned card sharing. Theres plenty of info on this on the forum so use the search function. (However no asking for - or offereing card shares - thats a definite no-no on the forum and would lead to you getting banned!)"

So seems it is allowed

No just info at the moment.
I do have a FTV card that i want to try in it, but can't see where to "view" it on the menu section There is no "card initialising" message or anything to say that it recognises the card. What am i doing wrong? I take it the yellow house points upwards in the slot?

OK, let's confirm the rules.

You can discuss methods of card sharing, but not solicit or advertise card shares.

If you have CCcam installed, then type in _http://your.db.ip:16001/ and it will show you the details of any card inserted.

Are you using this exact format? _http://192.168.0.24:16001/ obviously with the correct ip.

Just looking back over the thread, I am making an assumption that you have CCcam installed and can select it using the Blue button on the Dreambox.

Just as a bit of added info...

you are using NewcamD and CCcam

when my Sky card is in the dreambox (not very often mind) it only works with CCcam for some reason?

like Rolf said, goto blue button and choose, then start CCcam2.04 and then just stick in sky card, and goto a sky channel on 28.2e

Going back to some of the first threads, I see that you have Gemini 4.1
This could be one the bugs that I warned you about see post #2.
Try flashing with 4.0, if you have the time and this is important enough.
Also, install CCcam 2.04 instead of 4.1 ?

Ok, you have permission to shoot me. CCcam was off
I turned it on, but, swapped receivers to test a Protek9600IP, and didn't think that it would reset itself.
Now have a connection to it and can "see" the card
What does the entitlements info actually tell me? Expiration dates?

Yeah....got a FTV card to update and now have channel Five, etc. All i have to work out now is how to get keys into it!!!!

Keys are easy, download the satankeybundle.tar.gz file from satandream.com and FTP it to Temp.

when you say you cant find it, do you mean DCC wont SEE it, or you dont know where it is?

when i download for the DB i download everything to a folder on C: called "Dreambox stuff" and thats the folder i browse to with DCC, keeping it all together will make things easier

PS
if your having trouble with DCC then use another ftp program, any will do... try CuteFTP or Flash FXP

To do what? Upload keys and decrypt channels? That's all you need. (offers of free holidays in Valencia to sat mods will help )

Download keys from your preferred website. Upload keys with an FTP program e.g. FileZilla. And if CCcam is your default emu you can view whatever is open.

You may need to restart your emu (blue panel > start/ restart Cam)
