I've tried this method several times without any luck, even on an original DM500!

You are using the dm7000 dreamflash software correct?
Can you please provide us more details or some screenshots ?

hi,
I followed your method and exact pinning as written in first post by admin.
I tried many times but i get this message from the software:

***CPU and JTAG communications check***
ERROR: communication with LPT/JTAG
ERROR: register test failed
Check your JTAG/LPT1 connection and/or adjust your voltage regulator

Have you any idea what is happening? I became sick checking and checking all day, but nothing's wrong.

Have you guys made sure that the PC is setup with the correct configuration of the parallel port?

I believe this would be in the bios setup for the PC.

As it looks like the communication has to be bi-directional.

and you are lacking a good communication to the jtag interface.

My System: Dreambox 500s

I'm sorry if i seem sceptical but the fact that no one else got it to work just makes it a bit fishy. Until some other people start getting it to work I'm gonna say it's still locked. Anyone know any other good box's? I have a technomate I paid about €100 for which does unlock all the stations but it doesn't really tell u whats on. Maybe I'll get another dreambox clone? hehehe

My System: DM500

Hello,

My "clone" DM500 is also dead. But I have a programmer and the tools to remove the flash ic. I used a working orginel DM500 and removed the flash ic. I was trying to read the flash ic but I got the error:"manifacturer / device ID check error". In the program i could switch a option off, so that I wouldn't get this error. So now i could read the flash. And stored it as a bin file. But when a looked at the data in the bin file, all the adresses are filled with "FF". So my question: does somebody has a correct dump file of a working flash? Or is there somebody elso who also worked with a programmer a knows the error "manifacturer / device ID check error" Or does anybody know a different solution?

I may be wrong but didn't the pdf file say to connect all coloured wires to the soldered blobs? (where your grey wire goes to on that picture). I have just opened the pdf and that is where all the wires are pointing to.

freon might be able to clear it up more when he comes online next

If he were not a wizard, from head down to the root, you would have got to worry-your DB only boots

Cable wiring is the same as post #1. Additional info:

2) Computer and BIOS configuration:

BIOS COMPUTER **** LPT Printer ****ECP+EPP

Windows XP **** Contr.panel-System-Hardware-Device>Porten****Printer port****i never use an interrupt!

3) Start program ****Connect (important) When You hit the connect simultaniously place the power to dream.
No Connection, Try Again (again) ****Connect then (important) When You hit the connect simultaniously place the power to dream.
If you have connect ****(important) Write right dm500...bin for a boot of 500 alps (what must be all the clones).
(boot file for DM500)

After you can use standard DreamUP to put new image

Hello,

Was it a cloned DM500S or an original one ?
Did you test your box after restoring bootloader : ie Network and tuner are OK ?

Can you tell us which binary file you used, and maybe give us an url to get it ?

Many thanks for your contribution.
