My System: Dream Box 500s
Is phone line required?

Hi

i have been using the dream box 500s for the past year without any problems but recently had my phone line taken out hence losing all my sattellite stations i.e sky sports etc.

Is there anyway I can get these back without the phone line?

Any help would be very much appreciated...

If he were not a wizard, from head down to the root, you would have got to worry-your DB only boots

You have a Sky subscription card?

Card share at a guess.

In which case yes you will need the phone line for the broadband connection

Eh??

You still need the subscription card card in the DB to decrypt the Sky pay channels AND you get exactly what the card is authorised for no more. There are no freebies with Sky UK

A DB wont magically give you all the pay channels for free. If you want your channels back you need to re subscribe

Card share - plenty of basic info on the forum if you want to investigate further, although its pretty complicated at times!

yea dasteelman sounds like u might be right i bought the box from a guy who did all the setting up for me all I had to do was cancel my sky subscribtion and plug it in....and by magic i've had all the pay channels for free (until i had the phone line taken out that is).

Is there anything I can do to get the stations back without the phone line? oh i dont know if this makes a difference but i'm in ireland.

Thanks again

Am i right in thinkng slightly off topic that if you have a card you can share internally between boxes using a router without an internet connection?
As my internet is down at the moment but have a sly card and 3 boxes.
