If he were not a wizard, from head down to the root, you would have got to worry-your DB only boots

Have you looked at this thread: Reset Root Password, Plugin

Did you ask the shop what the password is? Are you card sharing and do they have remote access to the Dreambox? If yes and you change it they won't be able to "update" it.

Presumably its been set up by the shop for a card share system. If so stop trying to change the p/w - you will probably stop it working if you fiddle with it!

Or are you trying to get to the share details so you can pass it on to friends??

thanks mhku for your help.
i tried to automount with the fowllowing but i cant see the file in my dreambox.
On your PC:
1: Create a folder somewhere on the PC. (Dont use any spaces in the name)
2: Right Click the folder -> Select Properties -> Select the Sharing tab -> Tick 'Share this folder on the network' and if you want to write to it tick 'Allow network users to change my files'.
3: Click 'Apply'

On the Dreambox:
1: Go to Blue Panel -> Extras / Setup -> Automount
2: Press the yellow button to add a new share.
3: Leave the mountpoint as 'nfs'.
4: Change the Client IP to that of your PC.
5: In the dropdown menu select 'cifs'
6: In 'Client dir' enter the name of the folder you created earlier.
7: Enter your PC username and password in the provided slots.
8: Press the Green button to save.

anyway thanks for your help, appreciated

My System: Dreambox 500S Windows XP SP3

I tried so but the same thing, I check the folder "automount/nfs" but nothing inside

I am sure that the file is shared in the network as i can access the file from another PC. But I don't know what is the problem with the DM.

I putted this inputs in the automount window:

mountpoint: nfs
client IP: 192.168.1.68 (The IP of the PC where the folder is in)
cifs
client dir: /db (as the folder is in drive C: and named as db)
Options: rw,soft,udp,nolock
Buffer side: 8192 both
User: dreambox (The new user I did for this purpose)
Password: 123456 (The Password of the new user)

Is there anything wrong?

After that I open the "File Mode" - then folder root - then folder automount - then folder nfs - nothing inside!

Please, help me
