Red face DB 500s no showing conection to dish?

Hi I have DB clone 500s. First let me say that in back of box where you plug LNB in, it does not say LNB it says Antenna. But on the front panel it saids dreambox 500s.I have pli-jade-dm500-20080718-5335 installed. Well I got a dtv 36inch world dish with Sadoun HH sg2100 motor I think that is the model. With VSU. When I connected dreambox to my motor and world dish I could not make any sense out of it. everytime I conected DB to motor, motor would move I could not tell what was going on. So I put up a 18inch dish today. And went to satellite configurtion page and set it to, One single satellite (110.0W) to see if I can get that sats FTA channels. Then I went to Satfind page. It showed this,SNR 60%/ nO LOCK/ AGC 0% / BER 65520. tHEN I went to autoscan and scanned 110.0W it said O transponders where fond 0 channels. It said Verify antenna / cable setup. Or try another satellite/network. I know the dish is right on with 85% Q on my VSU. Anyone know anyhing about it?

My System: Dream7020 and AZ Elite

The BER shows that there is no good connection to the dish.

Could be a bad LNB, a bad cable or dish is pointing in the wrong direction.

If he were not a wizard, from head down to the root, you would have got to worry-your DB only boots

My 500s says ANT IN OUT on the back.

Have you set the dish up correctly? Also "gotoXX" doesn't work with a 500s.

Your's has antenna to, thanks for letting me know.
The 'goto'xx does not work dam thanks again. How do I get it to work with motor. I put it on my motor which is already set up with my VSU and working great. but I could not get anything on the DB.

I just put a volt meter to Antenna termal in back of box, there is no voltage coming out for LNB. When I went on satfind page there was like 3-7 volts coming from Antenna termal. I need 18volts for my LNB. I have pli jade-DM500 image, in this image you can just press increase volts but it only bought it up to 7 volts. You cannot pick 14-18 Vs. I think ths box is a mistake. Can anyone confirm this for me please?

I've not used pli jade-DM500 image so can't help with that but in Gemini the setting is in Service Searching > Satellite configuration > and there is a voltage setting on the next page.

Well

Isn't 110W all circular polarisation L & R, I did not know the Dreambox could receive signals with circular polarisation. Perhaps it can but because we do not use that configuration in Europe, I am just not aware of it. Perhaps that is why the Dreambox thinks there is no connection.....

Oh and just be aware we are getting very close to the wire in this thread since 110W carries North American providers discussion of which is not allowed as per the rules of the forum.

Oh well I dunno. But I am not getting any voltage out to LNB. Linear LNB's need 14volts. I got only 3-7 volts.

Locate and check that the 13 or18V voltage out from the LT1930 voltage step-up converter is present (pin 1) in the schematic attached.

If yes, check for possible o/c diode and chokes connected via pin 1 to pin 2 of the tuner module.

If no, check 5V supply to the converter chip (pin 5). Possible other problem could be MOSFET Q72.

Wow thanks for that very detailed schematic. I know how to read the schematic but I do not know how to check diodes and chokes. I have the meter though, since I had a course in auto electronics years ago. But at last I fond a image that works for me. DSM-Remastered. But I have a 36inch dtv world dish with VSU. I have a circular LNB on it also. Well I put the DB500 on the extra LNB plug and moved my dish with he vsu to 91W. It showed a connection to dish good signal's I scanned and got all channels. I could only view a HDinfo channel worked well. So then I put DB500 to my linear LNB a aspen. Well first I moved dish to intelsat 97W with vsu then I put LNB to DB500 it showed good signal but no channels locked in. I do not understand why circular channels came in and FTA channels did not. I am hitting a lot of linear sats like amc1/ amc 4/c /amc5 . intelsat 5-8-6- amc6/c. But I tried a lot of images, but hey do not have these sats in there sat list. But DSM had 97W, but no channels came in when I scanned it. It showed good signal. ??

No no I meant to say that I had scanned intelsat 5 97W, and channels were coming in. But when I went to TV mode no channels there just black screen.
