My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

It doesnt need an internet connection, but its a useful add on for the more advanced features.

With a single lnb and an umotorised dish you will get whatever the dish is currently pointing at

DB's can be made to work with white cards, (details on the forum) but you will get what the card is authorised for and no more.

Card sharing is up to you - but you are on your own setting it up, we dont allow detailed discussion of how to do it.

Ok thanks guys , looks like ill have to get a 80cm dish but another stupid question is that can a motorized dish be set up on a wall mount ? as it will be on the front of my house and i cant really get a bigger dish. also how will i be able to control the dish im guessing that the dreambox will adjust to several satellites ? thanks again for your replys and help getting me set up !

Be aware - many recent DB 500's dont control motors well - the cheap Chinese power supplies in them cant handler the power required!

Seeing as the DB500 was discontinued about 18 months back its certain to be a clone!

DONT put recent gemini images on it - thay have a time bomb in them and it can kill the box.

My System: technomate TM 5400 CI+USB. 88cm dish.stabhh 90. 60cm fixed dm500s

I've ordered a dm500s from dvb.Hope it arrives tomorrow.
Yes they are clones. But for me they are a cheap way to get used to linux.
As a starter box the techonmates are good.Very easy to use and plenty of help available.
