DM500 Dead when Powered

Hi guys,

something really weard happended with my dreambox. Everything was working fine and also had an internet connexion to a provider not really legal for seeing sky, etc...

I tired to update the software of the DM500, and was also working after reinitialization. after switching down the device, and switching on again, i saw a red message like 'warning clone detected, bye amigo'...and after that, nothing anymore????
Now, I do not have even the LED(led emitting diode) lighted on it...
I have checked the power cable and it is fine. I also opened it and saw some voltage inside, so it's probably not a hardware issue.

Has someone already encountered a similar problem??? Is that only software?? And what can I do to make my dreambox working again

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hello

Welcome to the forum juju723

well yes you have been zapped by the bomb planted in the gemini image to deactivate clone DB 500's. You will unfortunately need to return your stb to where you got it from since even if you jtag it yourself you will still somehow need to get hold of the information required to do the card sharing

the following threads will explain all about jtagging

Your box is a clone! Adios amigos.

You put a new version of Gemini onto it didnt you - very bad idea indeed.

The later versions carry a built in time bomb which has wiped the boot loader. As Topper has said you will need to jtag the receiver then get your card share config replaced.
