Loading EMU giving me a HEADACHE!!!

Guys, My problem is as follows
I have a DM500 and have installed Gemeni image. I have used FTP Total Commander to transfer (newcamd) emu to the tmp folder in the dreambox. It transfers over ok.I have also changed the rights on everthing in the newcamd folder to777. I then use the Blue button on the dreambox, select,Addons/Setup and set the path for the new addon to the tmp/newcamd folder on Dreambox. I then hit save, exit and they select manual install.
Addon not found is the message which appears.
Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?
My understanding was that the dreambox finds the emu from the tmp directory and sorts it out in to the appropriate directories e.g. var/tuxbox/config? Is this corre ct or have I just lost the plot.!!!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It means the file you are putting in /tmp is not valid. It must be a tar.gz file not a zip file

Why not just download it from the blue button? Where did you get the file?

I have eventually bought a dreambox
I downloaded the emu from www.I-have-a-d**ambox.com. I then unzipped it.
I put the complete folder with sub folders into the tmp/
The contents off the folder read:
newcamd_6.04/
var/
bin
lib
scce
script
tuxbox
uninstall

Each folder has programs in them except scce
Is this correct?

No that's not correct. Put the whole unzipped file into /tmp

Do NOT unzip it. Then you'll be able to install it from the blue button.

Thats it sorted out now. I was unzipping the EMU.

Now I have to figure out how to get my official sly card working in my db.
Back to the tutorials.

You need to edit 2 files Cobbs. Plenty of info here about but if you get stuck im sure we can help you through it.
