I have recently upgraded 7000S with the latest Gemini 4.0 the hard way (DL file, store in PC, connect null modem cable, DreamEdit, etc.) It is possible now to upgrade or even to reflash the same image with a fresh clean start by using the box, without the hassle of null modem cable or a PC or FTP. You need an internet connction with a router. Blue Button > addons > Download (Gemini-Server) > Updates (1 entries) > Select: Gemini_400_DM7000_270807.img and click OK Start download the image file Gemini_400_DM7000_270807.tar.gz When the download finishes, you can choose to install (if you are REALLY ready) or just store the file in the /tmp subfolder for a rainy day. Are you sure you want to install this /tmp/Gemini_400_DM7000_270807.tar.gz Since I already have the same image, I clicked the red button (No) Are you sure you want to delete /tmp/Gemini_400_DM7000_270807.tar.gz Clicked red button (No) and the file is now stored in /tmp subfolder. If you choose to upgrade immediately after the download and after a successful setup and channels scan, the box IP changes to a new default value and you need to go to: Setup > Expert Setup > Communication Setup > and change the IP back to the previous values, otherwise the router will not connect you to the internet. Please check and post if this is possible with previous Gemini images ex. 3.60 and with other DreamBox models 500, 5620, etc. | ||
