Edit Recorded files on 7000S

I would like to edit recorded *.ts files on the 7000S.
The PVR module enables recording and playing of recorded content, but it is very limited to basic player functions (play, stop, pause, fast forward/backwards), but there is no editting capability like divide, delete sections, etc.
I can FTP the files to the PC HDD, and edit them using an application like Nero Vission, but it is not possible to export the editted files back to the 7000S.
Perhaps I am mistaken about this?
Is it possible to upload *.ts files to 7000S and be able to play them, or the box can only play content that were recorded using the box?
I have noticed that for every recorded *.ts file, a file with the same name but with *.eit extension is created. What is this format and is there an editor for it?
What I really need is to edit the files directly from the box.
Thanks.

if you edit files to your likeing, then send them back to the DB HDD, its best if you use the file ext .mpg

the DB plays this format no problems

Thanks RedDevil_UK.
I thought the DB plays only *.ts files.
Will FTP *.ts files to PC, edit the files with Nero Vission, Export them as *.mpg and then FTP back to the DB, perhaps to a new subfolder like editted or mpg

Any ideas about the editor for *.eit files?

OK. Just confirming that it works for *.mpg
While I was at it, I also uploaded *.ts and *.vob files and the 7000S can also play these formats.
Also *.jpg files play well.

*.ts editor

Is there a good editor for *.ts files without the need to recompile it while saving it?
With Nero Vission it is possible to Export as *mpg, but there is time penalty until the conversion is completed.

If he were not a wizard, from head down to the root, you would have got to worry-your DB only boots

The Dreambox plays mpg2 (there is more than one mpg format).

Womble MPEG Video Wizard will allow you to edit .ts files and save as .mpg or .ts

You don't stop playing because you get old, you get old because you stop playing. Regras

Thanks mhku.
I have tried the Womble MPEG Video Wizard and it looks rather impressive.
It is a bit inconvenient for me since I have to set the display to 1024 instead of 800.
Tried VideoRedo Plus and it is quite good.
Both applications cost ~ $ 70.
