If you need a subtitle in your preferred language, then you may have noticed that some of the characters don't look correctly on your screen. The reason for this is that the teletext characterset is using a default like English. This tutorial will show you how to change the default teletext subtitle language CHARACTERSET so that it will show correctly on your TV screen. I will use the Polish Canal+ channel for illustration. Click on the button TEXT to open the teletext pages. Then press the small DREAM button (in the middle right) which will open the teletext configuration menu. With button "7" you can toggle the National Characterset > Automatic Recognition ON or OFF. Set it on OFF You will notice now that you can see the Left and Right arrow in the language selection bar. Move down and select the Language Bar Press the right arrow key on your remote and notice the languages that can be selected Here is the list - Default - English - Estonian - Deutsch - Italian - Latvian / Lithuanian - Polish - Portuguese / Spanish - Romanian - Serbian / Croatian / Slovenjan - Turkish - Russian - Greek Set it on Polish so that you can see the Polish subtitle sent on teletext page 777 correctly, otherwise it will have some strange characters if left on English characterset. The screenshots below show how to do the setup. The last one is with the correct Polish subtitle. | ||
