My System: Dreambox 7020Si receiver, PLi image loaded and Irdeto and Viaccess cards installed. Dishes for Nilesat + Hotbird with lnb's for BADR and Eurobird 9 |
I received my 7020S today and have managed the basic configuration for Hotbird and NileSat. I now need to make it recognise the 2 smart cards that I have, Irdeto and Viaccess. I have put them in the two slots but cannot see how to activate them. Help me please. I am still on the standard sw release, but do plan to upgrade to Gemini in the near future

Then if things go horribly wrong you switch off, pull the cf card out and reboot ![]() You will need to allocated a cam to the services - dead easy to do, just stick a version of ccam as the default for the box.

Pli, Nabilosat and Gemini all have their advantages. If you go down the cf card route you will also need FlashWizardPRO 6.3 to format the card.

In fact it hangs during boot and has to be powered off and the card removed before it will boot correctly. The card is formated with Linux ext2

The second smartcard will only work when you change the image and then select CCcam from the blue button. I haven't been able to use the bottom card reader on my 7000S, hopefully you will have better luck with the 7020S And welcome to the Dreambox club.

Dishes for Nilesat + Hotbird with lnb's for BADR and Eurobird 9 | OK I got the card formatted with FlashWizard and installed Gemini 4.5 but I am not sure that has got me anywhere yet. Can't I use a SW CAM with the two card slots? I want to be able to access both services without swopping cards, or heaven forbid images. Even a $100 Openbox can do that, why not the more sophisticated 7020?? I have placed the cccam files in the \usr folder on the CF card but cannot see how to activate them.

When you see Common Interface on top of menu, scroll right or left If you see only Common Interface, this means that you haven't installed CCcam properly.

My System: Dream7020 and AZ Elite | Of course You can use softcams for both cards. CCCam will read them for You. If You downloaded cccam from the Gemini server it will be installed so You can use it from the blue button menu.
