How to view old recording whilst recording new programme?

I time shift most of my TV viewing.
It started a few years ago when I was married and had kids and had to respond to "Dad, can we..............?"

How to I view old recordings on my 7020 whilst a new recording is being made?

The File menu does not seem to work whilst the machine is in record mode.

Whatever happened to multi-tasking??

PLi Jade image.

If he were not a wizard, from head down to the root, you would have got to worry-your DB only boots

When recording a program Press the UP key on the remote in File Mode and you'll see the list of recorded programs - select one and you can play it. There will be a slight glitch in the (new) recording when you play the (old) recorded program.

I've just tested this as I've never tried it and it seems to work OK.

Hope that makes sense. Please test it and let me know. If it works I'll add it to the Guide.

You don't stop playing because you get old, you get old because you stop playing. Regras

Just double checked here and it works fine, at least with Gemini.

Its probably worth mentioning here that you can also watch channels that are on the same frequency and symbol rate on a single tuner system by pressing the up/down arrows.

If you are trying this on encrypted channels, you need to change a softcam setting.

Go to 'Blue Panel -> Camd Setup -> All Camd's' and check the box labelled "can handle two services"

Yes that works on PLi, it was just a matter of knowing which buttons to press

That is a neat trick.
Pressing the UP button shows what channels are available on the transponder
and any can be selected without upsetting the recording.

Thanks guys
