My System: Dreambox 7020S
Missing Freesat Channels

OK got myself a Dreambox 7020S second hand. Got it home, plugged it in and managed to log on from my laptop. So far so good

Flashed Gemini 4.60 image all with no problems. So now to set up the channels. I should explain I had a Sky+ system. I cancelled the subscription about a year ago.

Now there are two cables from the dish. I suppose I already know the answer but here goes anyhow. The receiver has two connections to the tuner. Do I connect both cables from the dish or just cable 1 to the "in"?

Set the system two one single satellite :- Astra 19.2E and then started the scan with the following results:

9 new Transponders
63 new TV Services
4 new Radio Services
18 new Data Services
79 Transponders with 85 Services Scanned

My understanding is that on Freesat I should be getting around 140 channels which I am not getting. Here is the list:

Well

Unless you have moved the dish then that is why you are not getting what you should, Freesat is on 28.2 East so select that and scan again, also you probably do need to activate the 2nd tuner using the 2nd cable

My System: Dreambox 7020S

On the config it had the Astra 19.2 as the first option. Didn't twig it was the wrong satellite. Rescanning as I type and I have 323 serives so far.

Is there somewhere I can download a ready made Bouquet for Freesat?

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

The 7020 only has one tuner - the other connector is for a loopthrough onto another receiver.

My System: dm7025ss

I have scanned with a sky dish 28.2 Astra and found ~800 services. I am only trying to get the freeview channels but they are not available.

I have a 7025 Gemini 4.4.
Do I need a sky card?
Do I need keys?

many thanks

Regards

Freeview is the DTT service and is nothing to do with satellite reception.

The free channel range carried on Freeview is different from the free channel range carried on Freesat

All Freesat channels are transmitted in the clear and can be watched on any digital receiver.

If you want to watch the pay channels then you subscribe to Sky - there are no patches or keys available at all.

hi

many thanks and sorry for confusing freeview and freesat.

why do you think I am not able to see the freesat on 28.2? its a sky dish but I have never used it before. is it possible it is pointing on a different satellite rather the 28.2?

any setting I need to be aware of on the 7025?

I have found 800 services but all the main BBC1 BBC2 ITV and BBC4... are all blanked.

Thanks for your help

regards

What channels are you actually able to watch - give us half a dozen and we will tell you which satellite you are on.

Yes it is possible it has been knocked, it is possible the cable is full of water, or shorted out, are those channels actually displaying correctly, is it actually BBC PARL'MNT on there displayed on the screen?

I think if you have not done a scan you need to before doing anything further

If you are not motorised there is no point in trying another satellite.
Are you sure you are searching correctly?

thank you all for your great support
fantastic forum this one, nice people around.

I have rescan.
Before I had selected transponder in the auto-scan option.
I have changed it to satellite and found 1000+ services including the FTA I was missing.
Many instances of BBC1 and BBC2 .....

I am sorted thanks again.

I am sure I'll find in the idiot guide how to compile a prefered list.
I'll ask the question anyway:
is there an easy way to preload the FTA channels so that I do not have to keep zapping until I found one?
Also what is there a prefered tool of communication with the 7025? I am using DCC. Can DCC do that sort of editing pre-loading I am talking about?

thanks again

Yes - set a favourites list up.

The easiest way to do it is to grab yourself a copy of DreamBoxEdit from the happyllama website
