Hi
Thers are pro's and con's.....but if you are considering buying DM7020+HDD+USB some of the German sites offer good package deals. In search of a good deal myself, so I will be interested in any other replies as I am in the market for 7020+120Gb+USB.

Come on then... start posting the best prices you can find along with the names of the suppliers - then we'll find out for sure!!!

To get the ball rolling :-

Some examples from HM-sat.de...

DM7020S No HDD - € 439,00 (£300.00 at current rates) + P+P and CC fees

DM7020S 40GB HDD - € 499,00 + P+P and CC fees

DM7020S 160GB HDD - € 549,00 + P+P and CC fees

DM7020S 300gb HDD - € 649,00 + P+P and CC fees

DM7020S 400gb HDD - € 739,00 + P+P and CC fees

I have no connection to this company (other than as a customer).

I also know that it's not the cheapest ( ) so come on - I throw down the gauntlet!

STICK

Hmsat Crap Repair Service!!!

Sorry BG, but although the sale price of the box is competitive from HMSAT I feel that the board should be aware that After returning my 7020 back to them for a repair (fault unspecified (ahem)), they have now had it for over 4 weeks and when ringing them (my wife speaks fluent German) all they say is that it will be returned soon.
Emails and phonecalls have had the same response for every week for the last 4 weeks and they will still not give me a date or reason for the failure.

I only had the box for 10 days and they have had it for over a month along with my 500€.

Also although the listed price was only 459€ when the post and package is added it adds up to 503.36€

Fair enough. I didn't say they were any good, just chewing the fat.

Nice to have some more feedback on them.

I bought my 7000 from there, and they were excellent. I don't like to recommend anyone, I'll only relate my experiences.

Anyone got any more prices?

My System: DM7020 Screambox MAC OSX & windowzz 98SE Gemini 1664 on tap

Hi
I've just started looking myself for the best prices for a 7020. I've noticed that some prices on Ebay "buy it now" are higher.
Pulsat 339£ 489€
SMSSat 329,00£
DVDR.Fr 342,50£ 500€
digitaltvshop.de 300,72£ 439€
digitaltvshop.de 328,12£ 479€ (80gb)
skytvsat 339,00£ 460€
3nity 293,87£ 429€
3nity 328,12£ 479€ (80gb)
Starmultimedia 300,72£ 439€

Any comments appreciated

Hint look at www.Kelkoo.de for best price and then challenge the other suppliers !

hi,

looking at buying one of these, gonna buy one off e bay from germany as they are the cheapest. Question is for the exra cash is it worth going for one with a 160gig hard drive or you reckon its best to buy one without hard drive and stick one in later?

cheers

Mine had hard disk installed - should be the correct one - you can install your own but if the price is right why bother?

Bought it from a dealer - more come back....

My System: Dreambox DM7020 with Gemini mod. Triax 1.1M Dish. Now looking for a motor to get it moving.

I got mine from www.satstore.co.uk, good prices and next day delivery and more importantly after 4 weeks it didn't recognise the hard drive so i called Mark about the fault and 3 days later i had a replacement.

Shame his product range isn't bigger otherwise i'd buy all my sat stuff from him.

regards Joe

Hi

Some dealers offer the Dreambox with a hard drive but don't actually fit it for you. It's another thing to check for and as Gameboy says if the price is right.

Add this to the list of things to check for.

Dreambox 7020 Best Prices

Best deal I found (February 2006) for the DB 7020 is from satshop.ch:

Without a HDD:

575.28CHF = £250.27 = 367.51 euros

http://www.satshop.ch/product_info.p...25&language=en

Note: For some reasons, the same page also gives you a price of:
619CHF = £269.29 = 395.44 euros
Not really sure why this happens...

With 250GB HDD:

784.51CHF = £341.30 = 501.17 euros

http://www.satshop.ch/product_info.p...roducts_id=698

Also Cash on Delivery!!!

I just ordered the DB7020 with 250GB, a couple of minutes ago! So I can become a newbie and ask lots of stupid questions ! I have to say though that I spend a LOT of time reading info from the web, so hopefully everything should work out fine???

Cfphenix,

I got your message yesterday, tried to reply but your mailbox is full, so you could not receive my answer.

I am still waiting for my DB 7020, but I think satshop.ch is a serious website.

Sometimes it takes me up to a week to receive a parcel from France so, imagine what it's like from Switzerland! They probably put it in the post today so, I would say it will be with me in a couple of day (wednesday) at the very earliest.

I'll let you updated when I receive my DB 7020!

Me too ! The only downside I could see was possibility of being old stock - there is now a Si version [ whatever that means]. Hopefully you have found a great buy and others, like me ,will appreciate your bottle to find a bargain.
