Purpose of DVB-T tuner?

Am I correct in saying that the 7025 may have a DVB-S and a DVB-T tuner working simultaneously? (The specifications for the DVB-T tuner shows it can tune in UHF channels 21-69).

My query is if I wish to have the DB tune in a number of UHF channels alongside the satellite channels do I need to get the DVB-T tuner with it or will the ANTENNA IN coaxial jack do the business? (and so the 7020 would be all i need!) Sorry im just confused about it!

cheers

I don't have one of these, but trying to help.....I would imagine that the co-ax input would be to allow RF to pass through the modulator so that you can view the programs on a remote TV. When you say you want to tune UHF channels do you mean analogue? I don't think it does that

If he were not a wizard, from head down to the root, you would have got to worry-your DB only boots

DVB-T is for terrestrial and connects to your aerial using the connector shown in the photo.

ANTENNA IN coaxial jack do the business
on the DVB-S or DVB-T card?

PGH: Many thanks for your help. This is what I thought as well - that it wouldn't tune in terrestrial analog channels from the aerial! However if you look here

h**p://www.dream-multimedia-tv.de/english/products_dm7025.php

you can see that is says for the DVB-T tuner

"UHF-Channel: 21-69 (470...861 MHz)"

Now all my Terrestrial channels come in on channel 25-35 (Im certain we in Ireland are still analog btw) but this would seem to suggest that it would tune them (or am I missing a whole chunk of this in your opinion?) Im not too up to date on digital/analog equipment differences to be honest.

But as regards the coax in (beside the scart) Im starting to think you are correct - that it is just a pass through and it cannot tune in UHF channels passed in here. Id really like to get it confirmed though somehow before I dish out

MHKU:

If you look at the back of the 7025 here (bottom of page)

h**p://www.dream-multimedia-tv.de/deutsch/products_images.php

you can see that there are similar coax connections to the DVB-T tuner next to the SCART connector. I just cant figure out whether it is this connector or the DVB-T tuner I need to tune in a few UHF channels. When I refer to ANT in I was refering to the ANT. in coax located next to the TV SCART.

Hope you dont mind me discussing the DVB-T aspect of this unit. Just wanted to get the order right!

thanks guys,

rob

The same RF connectors are also on the back of the 7020 and they're not part of a tuner- it's an RF passthrough. You can see it on the 7025 shot:

Perfect - that clears up that issue!

Just if anyone here with a 7025 could answer this question I would much appreciate it.

Can the DVB-T tuner handle analogue UHF(CH21-69)?
(DVB_T tuner document states it tunes UHF(CH21-69) - same as a TV I have that will handle the terrestrial UHF analogue signal)

Do channels input through the DVB-T tuner sit side by side with the satellite channels for CH+/CH-, EPG, etc?

Many thanks

Hi brathnach
Have a 7025+ the dvb-t tuner does not handle analogue signals
its for Digital Video Broadcasts
so if you are in Ireland like my self you could tune into RTE test signals out of dublin or get a mmds antenna and recive 85 digital channels

I very much doubt this forum allows talking about Chorus in Ireland for the same reasons VM cable is not discussed.

Well to be fair Despan answered the query I posed. I guess I would be as much to blame for bringing it up. But it was relevant to the DVB-T tuner aspect of the 7025 and how it would work in Ireland. (i.e. not at all) He recommended other means of receiving digital signals without refering to any particular provider.

If your near the border you could possibly pick up uk freeview, Probably not though as I cant get it and live 10 mile from the Divis transmitter but that is just a quirk in the position of my house, 300 yards away pick it up fine.
