Hi Everyone, I have a new DM7025, and I want to install HDD inside. I know the manual says that the box can use drive any size, but is that true? Is there any issues with larger dives? I have this one in my mind _http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=723884 Will that work? Any tips or warnings with the installation would be greatly appriciated too. Many thanks student

My System: dreambox 7025plus lg notebook | No it will not work this drive is SATA......for dreambox 7025 u need an IDE drive(PATA) the connectors for both the power& data transfer inside the dreambox only works with IDE drives additionally the size of the drive should be 3.5 inches...as this one _http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136111&nm_mc=OTC-pr1c3grabb3r&cm_mmc=OTC-pr1c3grabb3r-_-Hard+Drives-_-Western+Digital-_-22136111 more close pic of the interface here _http://img.systemaxdev.com/productmedia/htmlimages/cten/Western%20D%20Hardrive/Q110456-front.jpg best regards

My System: Dream 7000 + 7025 Sky+ box, On-Dig, 3 laptops, 1 desktop, Win XP and soon '7', OSX on one laptop | You can use a laptop drive, this provides an excellent performance with the added benefit of lower power consumption (perfect to extend the life of the powersupply)

I recommend you stick to the intended design and use any 3.5" pata drive. The DM7025 and the + model had a revised PSU which did away with the early problems.

My System: DM 600-S, AB IPBox 9000HD, Moteck SG2100, Fracarro Penta 85 dish, + some puters | If your fitting an external drive, I would assume you'd be using USB to do so, in which case it wouldn't matter whether the drive was IDE, SATA or whatever. As long as drivers arent required, any USB drive should do. PS: This thread is over a year old guys.

My System: Dream 7000 + 7025 Sky+ box, On-Dig, 3 laptops, 1 desktop, Win XP and soon '7', OSX on one laptop | Hi A laptop drive has worked perfectly well for the 7000 and the 7025, I use a 120gig which has more than enough space for most needs. I have not tried a 300gig yet, but expect no problems As to mounting, just take off the bracket and drill another hole, you will need a large to small IDE adapter
