CCcam and 7025

One of the main reasons I bought the Dreambox was to be able to use one of my Sky (UK) subscription cards in it.

Reading this and other forums, it would seem that CCcam is ideal for this.

So using the Gemini Blue Panel, I have downloaded the latest CCcam (1.7.1) and started it.

But my Sky card isn't being decoded. Dmesg tells me that its insertion has been logged, but nothing else.

I'm probably overlooking the obvious (as usual) but what more do I need to do?

Sorry to be such a nuisance!

If he were not a wizard, from head down to the root, you would have got to worry-your DB only boots

Is the card "active"?

Yes, the card is active, and works perfectly both in its own Sky box and a Dragon Cam.

I'm not playing with any premium channels - I can't even get C4 or C5!

I have just tried another card - same result (Sky boxes and cards are my part time business - I have several active FTV cards to choose from as well as my subscription card)

In blue panel - auto-camd settings, I have the option of cccam-1.7.1/NewsCS-1.20 or CCcam-1.7.1 (as well as common interface). I have tried both of them

An old post here says:

edit the config file with your box number and away you go!!
which is CCcam.cfg but it was v1.30 for 7025; 1.71 works for 7025 (so the blurb says).

I've got this sorted. I don't know whether it's a general problem or not, but it was CCcam v1.71 that was the problem, not anything I was doing.

I deleted v1.71 and installed v1.62 and it worked first time.
Problem sorted.

the config file for CCcam is CCcam.cfg and is in /var/etc/

Did you make a copy on your PC of CCcam.cfg?

You can download/ install another copy but it won't have any of your settings in it.

My System: Irish Sky sub, Freesat HD from 28.2 East, BIS 5W and a Motorised Dish with a HTPC holding it all together

A lot of these questions can be answered by reading the Idiot's Guide entries but assuming your box is connected to the Internet and you are running with a Gemini image, you can download the latest CCcam and CCcam config by clicking on Menu...Blue Panel...Addons and download from the Gemini server. The most recent CCcam will be available that way.

Use the Blue Panel to assign CCcam to the BSkyB provider and make sure your Sky card is installed in one of the Dreamcrypt card readers.
