Lightbulb ftp programs for DM800

To communicate via ftp with you Dreambox, you can use the Firefox broswer with a plug-in called FireFTP. You can download it at Mozilla Firefox page add-ons in your browser(tools/addons).

There is also a good program to use ftp which is FlashFXP(Shareware). Find it at flashfxp.com

I find it more easier to edit the CCcam files and upload ipx files to the DM800 through these ftp programs.

Please feel free to post other ftp programs that work with the Dreambox.

Hello my fiends

And what about telnet and ftp native programs, and to edit dreambox files we can use the super-editor named "vi".
I'm one of old guy and I like that programs!

My System: XP SP3 DM800S

for "simple" ftp things I use directory opus which is an explorer replacement for windows that has a ftp client integrated, so it's juste like drag and dropping files on local drives...

depents on the image, sometimes,it happens, that some folder has no access for writing or for changing some folders, how i must change the atribut,to get write acces to all folders?
when error massage come, for e.g file could not be created, make sure you have the write privilegs, maybe it has also something to do with administrator rights, under windows vista,to change the value, for executable files you must set it to 655 atribut for example, but for what stands the other numbers in the atribute extension ,of a file?

I have stopped using FTP programs altogether, I just run Samba Server on the dreambox instead.

This allows you to browse directories(folders) in your dreambox through Windowz Explorer without the need to fiddle around with FTP settings. Just drag and drop, Of course this also allows you to set up Network Drives and Shares for easy access to folders you use regularly on your dreambox, your dreambox harddrive for example.

Samba is a Daemon/Server that runs on linux machines. It allows you to create shares on the Linux Box that are readable/accessible over the network via windowz explorer. There is no configuration or extra software required on windowz side.

Its available as a plugin via blue panel in Gemini, If your not running Gemini the plugin is widely available for download and manual instillation,
