My System: Sony Pearl+DVDO Edge, 182cm screen, Tvix 6500A, Dreambox 800 +T90+8lnb, Denon 1910+AVR3806, AMX, 3*KefQ1, 4*KefQ2DS, HSU VTF-3 MK3 turbo

I advice using Dreamstream to stream from Dreambox to PC, no hassle:

My System: Dreambox with router and pc

Hello Heavymetallic,

Welcome to the forum.

Did you solve this issue and have been able to watch any channel on PC regardless of whatever channel is on the DM800?
I'm waiting to test a theory of mine but it involves in setting up a second dish to view any channel regardless of the package.

For those who don't know, I posted a well back on how to view as many channels and record at same time, but limited to channels depending on the service provider.

The steps are very simple:

1) Select the channel you want to stream,
2) Pass it through vlc or web interface.
3) Depending the provider you are currently streaming, only those channels can be opened as a second, third, forth and so on.

For example:
I'm watching/recording HBO on the dreambox and at the same time I want to watch Polsat, BBC and Discovery on my pc.

I zap to HBO on my dreambox and stream the other channels using the web interface or vlc.

The trick into knowing which
channels fall under the same provider is by opening the servicelist from the dreambox, each service will have a grayish color meaning its locked and cant be streamed, well the other services which have a white color means you can view, stream or record it at same time.

I will post on my findings if its posible to stream all services at same time for the 800.

Best regards

My System: DM800 running BH v11G2, 2 x Sky Minidishes with DiSEqC switch pointing at Astra 28.2E and Hotbird 13E

I just got my DM800 on Thursday and I've been playing with it over the past few days and finding out what it can do.

I ran into the same streaming problem as described, in that you can only stream from the DM800 programs that are on the same service, if you want to watch something on a different service than that which is being viewed on your TV you have to physically change the channel on the TV.

I found that after a restart, the TV doesnt automatically tune to a TV channel (possibly selecting standby will do this too?), you have to select one on the remote before viewing starts. This leaves the streaming on the web interface free to view whatever channel you want as the DM800 isnt restricted to what you are viewing on the TV. I was then able to flick through all my channels fine on my laptop upstairs. Just be careful you only open one instance of VLC player at a time to view your channels and you shouldnt have any problems.
