Yeah, just replace the newcs xml file on your box with the one you download. You dont need to replace your cccam cfg file if you already have your own one configured. Just copy the first line of the one you download "the N line" and put it into your own cccamcfg file.

You need to use NewCS 1.60 or newer. Don't use older versions of NewCS. They can fry the card.
Put the newcs.xml in /etc/tuxbox/config/ and the CCcam.cfg in /etc/.
The version of CCcam is not important, but keep it newer than 1.71, if You want to use it for cardsharing.

do you by any chance know if an nds3 sky it card works as well?

do you think i might need to lower the speed of the newsc file you posted from 450 to 357?

donot try to read nds3 sky it card in internal dreambox reader, will cook you card.use external card reader, phoenix programer or simular...
card read well at newcs_1.60 answer time ~130ms 3,57mhz

No m8, I just used the file as it came, It worked first time for me Just had to restat the cam.
Have you inserted the N line into the cccam.cfg file?

HI, it opened. thanx Neverthless i have hear that many people damaged the box trying to share. I was not able to share the card only open.

Glad you got it to open. I dunno why it wont share for you. If you look at the cccam config file that is in the download it only has one active line, which is the very first line, the N line. Every other line has a # at the begining which cccam ignores. these are just information lines and explantions. If you copy and paste the N line into your own cccam config that you use for your shares it should work. It works for me. Im still a learner but I have read of people frying their cards while experimenting with overclocking, but not the Dreambox itself

Thanks for this. It works on my DM800, but AU (auto update) doesn't work. I need to put the cards for 24 hours in a Sky box to get them to update. Is this normal? Is there a way around it?

To be honest I dont know. I have checked my entitlements and the earliest is 30/11/08 and the latest is 10/12/08 so I am probably not due any updates. Though I suspect I have received these recently I cant be certain that the card was in the 800, it may have been in my relook running just cccam while I was working out how to C/S.

I have done a bit more reading and it seems that the card will not update from the internal reader using cccam and newcs at present even though it can be viewed. From what I understand the emms reach the card but are corrupted by the time they get there, so are ignored. The card will update with Mgcam or Evocam. I use CCcam to connect to my C/S but if I switch to one of these after viewing and leave it overnight it should update if the updates are sent during this time.

Hi, sorry to kind of "gate crash" this thread but my friend is having a little trouble with sky HD card on his dm800, here is what he has done so far:

He downloaded the latest enigma2 version of Gemini for his dm800, Gemini flashed fine and he downloaded CCcam. Again CCcam was working fine on how it should work apart from 1 thing, i.e. It was all connecting fine to everything apart from reading his sky uk hd card.

Anyways me and him thought that he may have to use newCS, so we looked into new cs, put 1.60 onto the box and enabled the emu CCcam with newCS 1.60 and still no joy, the card would not read, it kept coming up as unknown card.

Anyways I then realized for newCs 1.60 you need to add in the box number, so he tried that and it still never worked. I then checked a popular dreambox forum and found that 1.62 of newCS was available, in this version no box number is needed, so he downloaded engima2 version of that and he couldn't figure out how to enable it with CCcam as it wasn't in the cam selection list.

We then thought ok, since me and him have both used CCcam in the past and not newCS it could of been the N lines that were the problem, again we checked and checked and the N line looked fine which was to be linked to the CCcam.cfg file.

I then noticed that Niablosat image came with CCcam 2.0.9 and NewCS 1.62 as a package from the green button, so he flashed with niablo image (the latest one), downloaded the CCcam 2.0.9+NewCS 1.62 pack and it eventually read the card.....however no HD channel would open with his card.

So my question is this, has anybody got a sly uk card working with the 800 on Gemini and What settings should he be using? If it does work on Gemini then how does he get his box to recognize the NewCS 1.62 for enigma2? Also the other point is, if this isn't currently possible due to support, is they any reason why Niablo image will unlock the normal SD channels but not the HD ones?

Hi Sharkadder. While my sky package is not HD I am a"friend" of someone who has HD and uses Gemini 3.8 along with the 2 files from my earlier post. He reports that HD is clearing on his 800 from internal reader.

So can you ask your friend if the CCcam keeps the HD card alive and if i have 2 cards, do they need to be done from separate boxes? I've heard people say you do need them, then i've heard other say that it's rubbish and you can do it without.

Guys my SkyHD card is in a smargo reader and CCcam keeps it alive no problem. I couldn't say how it may work if used in the internal reader. Bare in mind when using the internal reader the card is totally controlled by NewCS. CCcam is simply a client of NewCS as it would be if you where sharing from someone else. NewCS is responsible for keeping the card alive. If it fails to update the problem lies with NewCS.

Sharkadder - No box ID needed in NewCS.
Simply setup NewCS as standard.
Add a user using the web interface.
Edit your CCcam.cfg and add the N line to connect to NewCS using the user details you just added.

Having to change cams in order to catch an update is simply out of the question if you're sharing. I know for sure my peers would be enquiring why the server was down after a few hours downtime.

HI, so if I have a smargo reader I do not need to place the sly card in the orginal box? Does it receives the keep alive signal? Also do I just need cccam?

0961 work in 800HD gemini soft for me at newcs_1.60 at 8mhz. i update it with mgcamd once at month without need boxkey. also working newcs_1.60+cccam_2.0.9 but no update in this case.
is anyone try to read new 0963 cards, is posible to read?

Hi. I am having some probems setting up the smargo reader on my 800. I have done all as requested but still not opening card (NDS SKY on CCCAM).

Nabilo 0.5

The smargo has a light (green) flashing when connected to the dm800 and with the card inside

Settings:

SERIAL READER : /dev/ttyUSB0 smartreader+
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/ttyUSB0 4500002

Any help os much appreciated

SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/usb/tts/0 6800000

Add these two lines and it will work providing you have made the required changes to BH 0.5

Code:

Edit the file bootup in the folder  /ect/init.d

you add:

echo 90 > /proc/progress
modprobe ftdi_sio

Extract the attached file and inside you will see a nab.tgz file, ftp this file to tmp and then do a manual installation via addons.

I am thinking of buying viasat hd package, it is also nds system, so does anybody know if it works with same principles in dm800 as sky hd packages?
