DM800 reception settings grief with Nabilosat & Gemini2

Hi there,
I really need a bit of a helping hand.

My DM800 is running fine, whenever I restrict myself to the most recent image delivered by the Dreambox guys (dated 20081025).

But when I try to get the DM800 running with Nabilosat (BlackHole v0.10) as well as Gemini2 v4.2, I can't seem to find any channels at all. No matter how I configure the two unique pieces on the "Simple" reception settings menu that aren't available in the Dreambox image (that is, I've tried all possible variations of "Set Voltage and 22 kHz" and "Send DiSEqC only on satellite change").

Please note the fact that everything works correctly with the same settings on the DM800 using the Dreambox image (as well as with my older DM500 and DM7000).

So this looks very much like a problem stemming from the Nabilosat/Gemini2 images (maybe they're using a newer version of Enigma2 than the Dreambox guys?). But I really have a very hard time understanding why that should be the case. It hardly isn't the first time in history of man that any one has tried to use the Simple configuration mode settings ;-)

In the hope of not having to succumb to a non-HD life - or even worse: The default Dreambox image - I hope that some one out there are able to help me.

Thanks a bunch,
Mort

..Is the result of a defect in Nabilosat and Gemini2

Hi again,
after some extensive testing, I've found that my problems arise from an error that must be shared by Nabilosat BlackHole v0.10 and Gemini2 v4.2.

So I reckon that it must be a defect in Gemini2? Any way, they're using an almost identical version (Enigma2 29 April 2009 2.6 experimental and Enigma from 2009/04/23, respectively).

So I guess that I'm just the unlucky guy that were the first one to test these releases against 1 West and 5 East?

Hope that they'll fix it soon. And that some merciful soul will report it to the Gemini folks since I don't know how to do this..

Thanks..

Oopps. Forgot the most important part..

Gemini2 v4.1 (which seems to be utilizing Enigma from 07.02.2009) works flawlessly. At least, when it comes to the service scanning, which is a somewhat important for getting anywhere with the DM.. ;-)

I hope that that little piece of info will be able to help others out there?

Right now, I'm too darn tired to try if Nabilosat Enigma2 Black Hole - DM800 v0.9 work just as well in regard to service scanning.

Are you trying to load settings from a gemini image to the nabilosat image?

The two images use slightly different satellites.xml settings.

Nabillo team use
28.4 E, 5E, and 1W.

Gemini use
28.2E, 4.8E and 0.8W.

This causes problems when you try to transfer channels lists / Bouquets from one image to another.

No. It was much more simple. I was merely trying to be able to put DM800 to use by tuning in to some sat channels..

And that didn't pan out with neither images. Fortunately, Gemini2 v4.1 work flawlessly! :-)

And so does Nabilo on my 800

Hi, I am assuming you dish/motor is correctly alligned. This is how I do it with Blackhole

1 Menu/Setup/Service Searching/Tuner Configuration

2 Choose Tuner Menu is displayed/ Press OK

3 Reception Setting is displayed

4 Config Mode/Toggle Right button to display Simple

5 Mode/ Toggle Right Button to display Positioner

6 Input your Longitude and Toggle East/West

7 Input your Latitude and Toggle to North and exit out of setup

Should be set up perfect now

My System: DM7020

I have the same problem with Gemini 4.20, Nabilo 0.10 and lastet Peter Pan image. Looks like the rotor is not reciving power when these images are flashed. When I downgrade images everything works fine. Also tried latest experimental image, but same problem there. Any solutions to this problem?

Cheers
