Nabilo 1.0 EPG ?

Seems to be a bit of life on here tonite, so here is my twopen`th

I have flashed and I can use Nabilo Blackhole 1.0 in my DM800 with Bootloader #72

Lovely job, especially the little screen when you browse channels

But I cannot get the Blackhole EPG to work on Sky UK

It is set to look at Hip Hop Radio, but to be honest it does not seem to be tuning into the Channel.

Anyone got it working ?

Have you enabled ' ALTERNATIVE RADIO MODE ' in MENU>SETUP>SYSTEM>CUSTOMISE?

Yes, I have EPG working although not on every chanell.
It shows on most of them but the odd one is missing.

you must add hip hop radio station to one of your TV bouquets. And change its setting to type 1 'TV'. Use dreambox edit as normal to do this.

In the EPG settings do a channel update and make sure all channels are selected to yes. This EPG system works just fine.

Downloaded from my DM800 and edited Hip Hop to Type 1 TV, saved, Uploaded and found Hip Hop was now in the TV list.

Added that to a Bouquet, went to EPG Panel and tried to Update the Channels, (there were none there) and the Box Crashed, Green Screen.

One of the lines of the Green Screen was Channel not found

Any pointers ?

When the Box has rebooted it comes back up on the Hip Hop Screen displaying Radio Mode

And just to add

I selected Sky Italia and chose update channels, it motored the dish over, downloaded em, motored back to 28E and they are all there, first time.

Sumat up with this Hip Hop Radio bit

I've had the exact same problem with sky epg on BH 0.10. The epg worked on all other epg's just not the uk one. After trying lots of idea's still no luck so I've given up and installed the 'myepg' scripts. Although these are not as 'user-friendly' they do download the entire epg even the regional variations of the channels.

Unrar the file and replace the channels.uk file in usr/share/dict with this one. Should work ok then.

I have FTPd the file into place and it gave me my Channel List back.

I can update the list, and I can edit the list, but

Whenever I save the list, it disappears, I check the usr/share/dict directory the UK Channel list has gone, to where, I dont know.

I can FTP the list back, go to Hip Hop and it does find a Data Stream, finishes and the Multi EPG Data is there and I can select programs using it, which is good.

I just have the odd thing where saving the file, actually deletes it.

Of course, I cant actually edit the Channel List either, cos I need to save it, unless someone knows a work around.

Another point is, the EPG Data Stream is saved as EPG.DAT, it is saved as that if it is the Sky Italia Stream, or the Sky UK Stream, so each time you update an EPG Stream, you overwrite the previous Stream, a bit odd for a Multi Satellite System.

Anyhow, a big step forward, all help is much appreciated

Exactly the same here mate.

channels.uk dissapears from /usr/share/dict

Try initializing your hard drive, cant say it will fix it but mine is working perfect.

A bit of a puzzzler, but when I did get the Data Stream on Hip Hop I came to the conclusion that most things were working, just not all together

So, deep breath, set the dish to 28E, and re-flash.

Installed and rescanned, went to EPG Panel, Channel list there, altered 1 Channel, saved, looked, and the Channels were still there

Anyway, have fired my Bouquets in using DreamBox Edit (which by the way is excellent) scanned 19E and 13E and we are all up and running, and the Multi EPG is there, 1 or 2 missing but 99% better.

Not gonna set it to Auto Download yet, I will do it manual for a few days, but I will report back at the end of the week.

Just a weird 1 I suppose

Well men, its all working fine auto downloading at night and a screen full of programming.
