DM800 Channel List

Anyone had a go at Editing the DM800 Channel List ?

What would be the best to start, I have had a search around and not found anything definitive.

I am after adding ITV Yorks to the list

Using Vhannibal settings myself as they are regularly updated and easy to navigate. Downloadable from BH firmware also which helps. Load them into Dreamboxedit and away you go.

Why not use the best list there is to start with.

E2 DM800/8000 68.5E To 43W Cajton Dreambox Settings 2.5.2009

Then download newest Dreamset _http://mmedit9800.tripod.com/ , install it and choose enigma2 ver4 from the setup.

Then start editing the updated full channellist to your liking (open it by choosing lamedb named file), all this editing will not take more than 10 mins and you will have a 100% working channellist.

Maybe I should been a bit clearer, the Channel List I want to update is the List of Channels which the EPG Updater brings in the EPG info by Hip Hop, in Nabillo it is called - Channels.uk - it is not a lamda.

ITV1 Yorks is not on that list in my DM800, I can receive the Channel, but I am not getting any Multi EPG info for it, and the reason I think is that it is not on the EPG Updater List.

I havn`t looked at Vhannibal, but i have downloaded and Connected to my DM800 using Dreamset, and wow.

If I were to be let loose with that on my DM800, I think I would be in serious danger of making myself an Expensive Doorstop. Nice program, but really a bit over the top for me, I like to tinker, not full blown surgery

Well, I now have all my Terrestrial Bouquet and Sky Bouquet all EPG`d up and it all looks stable, zaps and records as they should

Now to Sky Movies,

I cant get EPG for Sky family HD, but can get Sky family ok

I cant get EPG for Sky Premier or Sky Premier HD, but can get Sky Premier + 1

I can receive and view the channels ok, I have got them selected in the EPG Channel list.

I can only assume the EPG Channel List is wrong, so the question is,

For any given Sky Channel for example Sky Family HD, how do you generate the info to put into the EPG Channel List ?

These are the settings I have for the Sky Family EPG

1;1808;Sky Family;305;1133:7d7:2

Anyone else got these working ?

This is a how to make a correct Sky Uk epg list

a=download channel yes or no ( 1 or 0 )
b=channel ID
c=Channel name
d=Sky EPG number
e=SID ( from dreambox edit )
f=TSID
g=Network ID

The service id (SID position e can be read from dreamboxedit 3.0. Keep in mind that in dreambox edit its in decimal not in hex so you need to convert it to be used in EPG list.
TV3 Ireland sid is 9605 dec = hex 2585
to find the Channel iD for the uk list, you will need a copy of the CCcam.channelinfo, Open it and scroll down until you find # BSkyB (28E) VideoGuard, in that list you will find this line 0961:000000:2585 "BSkyB - TV3 Ireland [NDS]"
Remove everything marked in red
0961:000000:2585 "BSkyB - TV3 Ireland [NDS]"
and you will have the Channel id
1255

A; B ; C ; D ; E : F : G
1;1255;TV3 Ireland;104;2585:7fb:2

1;1815;Sky Mdn Greats;46;122a:968:2 works for Sky Modern Greats HD but the EPG number should be 339 and the ID doesn't correspond.

TOM, would you always remove preceding zeros from the hex values ?

7fb is actualy 07fb, so if 2585 was a smaller number would we remove the leading zero from that too ?

To be honest mate I dont Know. Most of the formula seems correct but the piece about the sky epg number seems a bit off if you look at some of the channels that it correctly gatheres data for. I will keep looking for more updated info but for now try these.

I checked and they all worked so 37 seems to be the number for regional ITV channels and the rest can be done with the formula.

here are some of the irish ones, they all work apart from 3e for some strange reason. If anybody gets 3e working then please correct it, otherwise i don't think it offers full 7 day epg as yet (this recently took over from channel 6 i think). I tried 3e on 105 as epg number and no success and it's epg number at present.

The one i had must have changed since what i had in DB Edit. I tried 3e again and it is still not working. This time after i scan epg it doesn't even look at 3e.

Anybody else getting these results? Maybe you made an error when pasting or something, either that or my 3e channel is wrong, i have this line for it:

Also irish setanta sport1 doesn't appear to be right.

I looked in my channel.uk list and found this also so maybe this is the one that is picking it up

Heres a list made up of 2 older lists I had, has some multiples and duplicates but to go through it would take ages so I just run with it.

Last grab it got 103000 titles

Tonight guys rather than wrecking my brain with the channels.uk file and how to get the required parameters for the channels i thought I would check out the alternatives.

Someone on the forum said that Crossepg worked well so I thought i woud give it a go. And I am pleased to report that it does a really good job. First thing i did on my Nabilo image was to disable the built-in OpenTv Epg loader, as they both use the same channels to grab the epg so I didnt want them both running.

So to install it FTP the enigma2-plugin-extensions-crossepg_0.3.2-svn-33-gp4.4rev.5_mipsel to your tmp folder. Then goto Manual Install Ipk packages (Green then Yellow on Nabilo) run the install and when its finished restart enigma2. Next replace file /usr/bin/enigma2.sh with the one I have uploaded. Now when you goto the Nabilosat Green Panel you will have CrossEPG listed in the plugins. But before you use it you need to configure it. You do this from Main Menu/Setup/CrossEPG. From this set it up for your own requirements. When done hit the green OK button to save your settings. You can also run an instant scan from the extras (blue button)

Now you will have a full Week EPG for Sky UK. It will also grab Sky Italy if you set it to do this. I suppose you could just disable the Sky Uk part of the Nabilosat OpenTv Epg loader and allow it to grab the others as it seems to work fine for all the others just not the UK channels.

First time I have seen a fully populated 7 day Epg

Tried it againg today to show the Mrs, as this was her gripe with the dreambox and its no longer working so ignore the above till futrther notice. Wonder why it worked this first time and now refuses?

Well I have been playing about with it again today and I think that I have managed to get it working again. What I did was to wipe all recorded stuff from my hard drive, tried it again and away it went. Grabbed almost everything for Sky UK. Dunno why wiping the drive had an effect, there wasn't much on it but its definately working now.

Even though I have it set to reboot enigma 2 after a scan it is not doing this automatically, the epg will not populate till this is done but if you set the epg to run during the night and then use the Nabilo Cron setup to resart enigma or reboot say 15mins after the epg is set for you should have a full fresh epg every day.

so this other plugin that you say had epg for other providers as well as uk. You say it has most of the uk channels, does that mean like 99%? Another thing is will it be available by pressing the tv button and then going to epg or do i have to check epg through the plugin?

The Nabilosat Epg has support for more providers than CrossEPG. CrossEPG does Sky UK and Italy and an Australian provider, any of which can be disabled.

I have just went through from Ato Z on my Providers list for BskyB and yes it would be around 99%. I access the epg by pressing the the info button which gives the info for the current program and from there you can check that channel for the next 7 days by pressing yellow or the multi Epg by pressing Blue. If you press a long push on the info button initially you can choose either single service epg or graphical Multi Epg which also shows a timeline in red for program duration.

my graphical epg seems to be stuck on astra1, it has about 30 channels in the list and i cannot seem to get out of it. Not sure what has happened there but i don't know how to change it back to uk even though i am on astra2 using BH 0.11.

Anyways, i think that cross epg works, i am not totally sure but sometimes it says configuration failed. Maybe it will only work if the hard drive is blank before hand which is actually a very very stupid thing to need to be done.
