Unable to play music files

Hi
This is my first dm at present setting it up is
running gemini 2. I have install a hard disc thats
up and running ok video records and plays fine
I have put another folder on the drive for music
and have ftp from my laptop in wma formatsome music
files but when I use Media Player it sees the folder ok but does not
display any music files if I use file manager it does
see the file but had a red question mark agaist the file am
I using the wrong format or just missing something got the
you tube player to work but am stuck on this Thanks

I cant be sure, but from memory, I dont think that the media player will recognize Windows Media Audio (WMA) files. To avoid issues like this, I always stick with MP3 when ripping music.

As far as I know, third party manufacturers need to get a license from Microsoft if they want to have their players WMA compatible.

I think compufunk is correct. Would be the same with WMV files as well.
Also DivX will not play on my 7000S for the same reason (I don't have 800 so I am not sure if DivX plays or not)

That sounds about right I will convert a file
and try it again tonight if I get time that would be
why the media player does not know the files

Thanks you were spot on ripped a cd as
mp3 ftp to dreambox there they were another
piece of the jigsaw done Thanks
