dm800 card reader 3.3v mod white card

hi guys, a qwik guide to modding ur 800 from a 5v reader to 3.3v


1st pic (3points)

these are the 3 main points we are interested in!

these are what we are going to be using!

2nd pic (cut there)

if you look at your box you will see that 2 of the 3 points are connected

by a track about 7mm long! you need to cut this with a sharp stanley

knife and place a 10 ohm .5w resistor across where the track was!

3rd pic (zener)

this is where the 3.3v zener (1.3w) goes. make sure it is these to pins

ie 1 goes to same place as resistor and the other must go to 0v.

4th pic (black band)

this shows the orientation of the diode

ie yours should look exactally the same!

5th pic (final)

this is how it looks after all is done!

all is self explainatary!

have tried my old blue card in and another old 5v card they still work in

it aswell as the 3.3v

***** update ***** (for clones)

after modding a original box with this and working well i came to do my clone!

the clone box does not like a 3.3v zener! it needs to be a 3.6v zener!

the clones must have a differnt chipset or something that just does not like going down to 3.3v!

3.6v will not harm your card in the slightest!

i am leaving mine on test for a while just to confirm!!!
