Sky Austria smartcard on my new DreamBox DM 800

Hi All,

This is my first post, I'm really exited about joining the community. (I'm totally newbie)

I just purchased DreamBox DM 800 and I'm ready to buy my subscription. now:

Sky Austria is what is available here, but someone told me that Sky smartCard will NOT work on DreamBox DM 800.

Is that true?

Quenstions:

1- May I use Sky smartcard on my new DreamBox DM 800?

2- May I order subscription from somewhere else other than Austria providers? (I would prefer Spanish/English/Italian Channels)... If not possible I would buy Sky Austria full pack but I need to know is card is compatible with DreamBox)

I am from austria and i have got a sky full card (A02) in my dreambox dm800s. It runs without freezes. You only need cccam 2.0.11 or higher. I would take the version 2.0.11 because this version does not have bugs.

There are 2 things I would like to ask you since you are the first person from Austria I meet in sat forums:

1- Just to know, why do I need cccam ?

2- Is sky the best option we have here in Austria?, which are the other options?

at first i will know why you will buy a sky austria card. you can only watch the german chanels
have you got a dreambox dm800 sat or cable?
if you only like to watch the german sky, i would share with you
you need cccam to connect to your local card. you can also connect with a big server to see more channels.

why do you like to watch sky germany?
you need the emulator cccam to connect do your local sky card or you can connect per internet to a big server.
you can only buy sky or orf. the other program is free tv.
