My System: DM8000HD, motorized dish, 1.5tb HDD & Sony DVD slot-in D/L drive.
Question Recording Question - "no tuner free!"

Advice needed please...

I have just set up my HDD and recording my first programme (neighbours for my wife on Astra28e, channel Fiver). However I am unable to view any other programme other than other programmes on Fiver or Fiver +1. All other channels are greyed out and says "no free tuner!"

I thought I could still view other channels via the 2nd tuner, on the same satellite?

puzzled!

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.

Exactly what Digibox are you using?

Are the Tuners supplied with independent feeds?

DM8000 and yes both tuners have their own individual feeds. Dual LNB on the motorized dish.

You need to configure Tuner B as shown here for Astra 28E -

Llew, I can't view the attachment on my iPhone, won't open.

What I did earlier was change the Tuner B to be "equal to Tuner A"

and that seems to have worked.

As a test, I recorded something else and viewed another programme on same satellite and it worked ok. Had some problems stopping the recording though as it carried on even when I told it to stop!

Then i went to play Neighbours for the Mrs and the screen was just black.
Eventually the DM crashed and said it was restartimg itself after 15 Mina of trying to play the programme ... Then it was fine.

A little too late though, as the wife is getting very annoyed with the whole set up and has no patience for it. I just hope it all starts to work flawlessly... I said o her it's just some teething problems, minor ones, as we get to grips with the new system.

Surely you bought her a new Iron, as a sweetener?

Doesn't matter re the attachment. My setup uses an additional fixed dish on 28E going to Tuner B. The manual says use the option ' Secondary cable from motorised LNB' if using a twin LNB with one cable controlling the Diseqc motor.

If the option you mention works OK, well that's fine.
